Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Kyoto

Soi’s Guesthouse is a super place to stay when you’re in Kyoto! All the hosts were super helpful, giving us recommendation and even helped us out with an office for one in our company. The street is also really peaceful and quiet, but still very close to the old town. Would definitely come back!

What a beautiful traditional Japanese home to stay We totally loved the old house, beautiful decorations, the inner courtyard and our room. Everything was perfect! Chieri is a great host, we felt very welcomed and home right away. We were on a road trip, so we also enjoyed that we could wash our clothes. And we tried out the traditional japanese bath. Perfect! Chieri, thank you for everything! Hope to see you someday again!

Très bel hébergement, on s'y sent comme à la maison. Yoko nousi avait même mis des fraises dans le frigos, très gentille attention de sa part. L'arrêt de bus est vraiment très près de la maison et permet de rejoindre le métro ou la gare très rapidement. Un super séjour, tout était parfait!!! Merci Yoko.

Mil gracias a Luffy por la estadía y ser una persona tan amable, tener en la entrada nada más llegar música de nuestros animes favoritos fue un punto increíble. Además de estar al lado de todos los lugar de Hibike euphonium fue algo que volvería a repetir sin duda.

Wir wurden gleich vor dem Haus bei unserer Ankunft erwartet und in Haus und Kyoto eingeführt. Man darf von der Unterkunft natürlich keinen Luxus erwarten, aber es hat sein Versprechen, ein traditionelles japanisches Haus zu sein, voll erfüllt, so dass wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt haben. Das Teilen des Bades mit den Besitzern war nie ein Problem, es stand uns immer zur Verfügung. Das Zimmer selbst ist sehr geräumig und ruhig. Die Gegend war Spitze, mit dem Bahnhof Katsura ist man schnell im Zentrum Kyotos und meidet dabei sogar den unübersichtlichen Hauptbahnhof in Kyoto. In der Bahnhofstrasse West (nenne es mal so) gab es ein Café, dass wir ab sieben Uhr zum Frühstücken besuchten (Oak Food). Östlich von Katsura Station gibt es eine Reihe von traditionellen Lokalen, von denen wir das 焼肉 おもに besucht haben. Hervorragendes, auf feinster Holzkohle am Tisch gegrilltes Fleisch (glaube, es heisst Yakiniku) in einem einfachen Gasthaus. Achtung, durch das Grillen ist das Lokal stark verraucht.

Staying at John’s place in Shiga was an unforgettable experience! John is an incredibly passionate and energetic host, always full of enthusiasm. He and his lovely wife, Rika, made me feel right at home. They even invited me to join their family for a delicious homemade dinner, and Rika kindly provided breakfast as well. Their son, Andre, was also very friendly, and I truly enjoyed our conversations. The house itself is a charming countryside cottage surrounded by beautiful nature, making it a perfect getaway. If you’re visiting Shiga, staying with John is an absolute must! Highly recommended!

Nuestra estancia fue excelente. La habitación de estilo japonés era muy bonita, con vistas al jardín, amplia. Cada detalle estaba muy cuidado. Tuvimos la suerte de conocer mejor a Ikuko y Michael. Acudimos a una ceremonia del té organizada por Ikuko que fue súper interesante, conforme con la tradición japonesa. Al día siguiente dimos una vuelta Michael, incluyendo visita guiada de una plantación de té, donde degustamos una gran variedad de tés en un ambiente realmente increíble. Los anfitriones son gente muy amable, acogedora e interesante. Muchísimas gracias por todo y hasta la próxima!

I had a fantastic stay at this Airbnb in Kyoto! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help out with any questions or needs. The location is great – it’s about a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest station and equally close to popular spots like Sanjo and Nishiki Market, making it easy to explore the area. One of the highlights of my stay was definitely the breakfast. It wasn’t just a standard continental breakfast – each morning, they prepared a full, delicious spread for every guest, which was such a treat to start the day. You could really feel the care and effort they put into making everyone feel at home. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The only minor issue was the washer and dryer, which are a bit dated. The dryer took a while to dry a half load, so I’d recommend doing smaller loads or planning laundry for when you have some time to hang out. Overall, I loved my stay here and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting!

This guest house is will be the best choice. The host tommy is very kind and mindful. He speaks english very well, so someone who didn't speak japanese will be satified. Also, the domitory bed was very nice. It's cozy and comfotable. And Tommy will give you breakfast If you request. The toast was tasty. I recommend this guest house, you will not regret your choice. 극성수기라서 숙소가 조금 비싸지만 4층의 경우 창밖으로 보이는 노을뷰가 아주 예뻐서 만족스러움. 도라에몽에 나오는 노진구 방을 생각하면 될 것 같아요. 아기자기한 가정집 같은 숙소를 원한다면 추천 드립니다. 매트리스 얇다는 후기를 보고 2장씩 깔아달라고 부탁드렸는데 친절하게 미리 세팅해주셨습니다. 사장님이 한국어는 못하시지만 간단한 영어와 바디랭귀지 정도로 소통이 가능합니다. 아 물은 기본적으로 포트에 채워져 있지만, 냉수가 필요하다면 직접 사와야합니다. 어메니티로 있는 녹차는 개인적으로 료칸에 비치된 것보다 조금 더 고소하고 맛있었습니다. 교토에 오면 또 생각날 숙소입니당.

I really enjoyed staying at Hide-san's property as it was conveniently located next to tourist attractions spots and had good access to transport links to other attractions. The room I stayed in also had a very authentic Japanese style design, which gave me the traditional Japanese experience I was looking for. Hide-san also showed me great hospitality and I enjoyed the many conversations that we had. The breakfast made by Hide-san also tasted really nice and it had a very homely feel to it. Overall, I'd recommend this property if you're looking for an authentic and traditonal Japanese experience in Kyoto. If I come to Japan again then I'll make future reservations at this property.

Le logement était très bien. Il ressemblait aux photos. L'hôte était très réactif. L'hôte nous préparait le petit-déjeuner à l'heure qu'on souhaitait. De plus, l'hôte est venu nous chercher. Nous avons été très bien reçus et avons passé un très bon moment. Merci beaucoup.
