The 7th stage of the *Malerweg* hiking trail passes directly by the house. This cozy and spacious holiday apartment (55 sq m) is located on the ground floor of a house (built in 1900) in the district of Pfaffendorf. The Markthaus is a historic gem and is a listed building, designated as the first hostel in Saxon Switzerland. The house frames the market square in the reflection of the market church below the castle ruin on the romantic Malerweg. The vaulted cellar and foundation walls date back to 1527. The main house was built in 1734 and operated as a rest stop, post office and inn. In 1850, a massive extension was built in the classicist style. Röhringer ran the Hotel Sächsische Schweiz here.
