Vacation rentals in Kalakkad

My 9 year old son and I stayed here. My son was excited to stay in Muraleedharan sir's place after seeing the photos. The host's family members and his caretaker were friendly to us and we had a comfortable stay. The quality and taste of food was really nice and worth the price.

Antony's place was a great find. He and his wife were very friendly that I felt right at home. They were very attentive of my needs specially when it comes to transportation. They were able to assists in me in my travels and even made great effort to arrange transport to Kanniyakumari to visit the Swami Vivekananda Rock Memorial . I will highly recommend Antony's place.

If we could give 20 stars for Jomon (Dileep) then we would and that would still probably not be enough. He was a kind, and thoughtful super super host with excellent English and answered our questions and showed us around the local area and beyond. We know this has been an absolute highlight of our whole trip and will never forget the experiences in Tamil Nadu and the many awesome temples he took us to.

I spent a night at Vaanavil Farm Stay with Sudhakar and his lovely family, and it turned out to be an experience far beyond my expectations. This family-run retreat, nestled right next to the forest, felt more like visiting close friends than staying at a guesthouse. Sudhakar, his wife Naushadya, and their daughter Vanya were incredibly warm and welcoming to my family. My child had an absolute blast—playing with their daughter, cuddling their friendly dog and adorable puppies, feeding cows and chickens, and exploring the vibrant organic farm. One of the highlights was undoubtedly the food—home-cooked meals prepared by Naushadya that were simply delicious. At first, we were a bit surprised by the food pricing, but once we tasted the lovingly prepared, organic, and locally sourced meals served three times a day, it all made perfect sense. Every bite was worth it. Don’t expect luxury here—this is a simple, earthy place with basic amenities. All the best to Sudhakar and Family.

The USP of the place is the proximity to the river. The view from the room is amazing. The bath in the river was a unique and refreshing experience. The host and the caretaker made sure the stay was comfortable.

Our host’s lovely personality made our stay great. Any issues we initially had were quickly attended to. Radha, our host brought daily breakfast from a local restaurant; large quantities of Indian food (i.e. eggs, sambar, dosa, tea). We prepared some meals in the minimal kitchen with goods brought in by Radha (we requested it at our expense). We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you Radha! *small, local rustic restaurant that cooks over wood; food was delicious, decor not:) *massages at a local tribal place. Woah…again VERY rustic. The male massage was fantastic, female massage poor. *cottage has private access to the river, last free flowing one in Kerala, so beautiful! Swift with strong undercurrent, not recommended for swimming, many people have been fooled by its peaceful appearance and drowned. *wild, mischievous monkeys invade every few days (keep your belongings indoors) interaction not encouraged. Rustic cottage in a jungle forest, bugs, animals, minimal, we ❤️ it

Mary mam is friendly and warm in nature. we were late to checkin however she was kind enough to be at gate itself. House is homely and clean. we used some kitchen groceries as well and she was generous enough to share. My daughters immediately connected with her and she was equally tolerant with them.
