【5 minute to Sta】enjoy the local atmosphere (2F)

JustinRating, 5 stars4 months ago
This house is located in a fantastic location, only a 6 min walk from the nearest station. Shiho, the host, was very accommodating. She greeted us as we arrived and gave a house tour. She also asked how we were going and made sure everyone was okay, something that is rarely done for Airbnb hosts. Everything in the house was clean and organised, the beds and futons were comfortable, and overall we had a great time staying at this place.

The place was greasy to stay in. Everything we needed was provided. Instructions were clear. The stairs were tricky to navigate. Maya’s communication was great and she was lovely to communicate with.

Central Location/8 min. from KYOTO sta./bike+Wi-fi

We loved our stay in this Airbnb! So perfectly located in the center of all we wanted to see. Walkable distance to many things or cheap taxi ride. The wash room was so cute! We just loved the wallpaper and that it had a nice shower and bath. Every night I walked to the local onsen alone late at night and felt totally safe. Restaurants close by were delicious. I highly recommend the ramen shop on the same street. The sleeping mats were very comfortable and the home quite warm and shower as well. We really appreciated the guide books which we used to find the best spots for cherry blossoms. Thank you so much for easy instructions and a comfortable stay! We would love to return again.

Miwa’s place was a beautiful way to experience a traditional Japanese home in the beautiful Kiso valley. Her parents who live close by were extremely helpful and so kind & welcoming to us during our stay. It was a perfect choice. Thank you!

青春画廊 東山 : Contemporary Art House Higashiyama

BruceRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Yasuhiko san was waiting for us when we arrived and explained everything about the place in careful detail, and provided what turned out to be great recommendations for a bakery and a grocery store, both nearby. The staircase, as he warned us ahead of time, is quite steep -- my older friends preferred to stay downstairs; I used the upstairs bedroom and found it easier to use the staircase by walking down backwards like a ladder -- it is quite steep. The area is very busy with tourists, many foreign, and both the bakery and the grocery had more non-Japanese than Japanese when we visited -- I suppose this is to be expected so close to Gion. But in short, the place was wonderful, as was Yasuhiko.

Unfortunately, we were only passing through and therefore only stayed one night in this great AirBnB. It was a beautiful old Japanese house. It's a bit off the beaten track, but everything is super accessible by car. We highly recommend this property! 😊

Yuri and Hori’s guest house offers an authentic experience in Kyoto. The house truly gives you the feeling of living in a quaint home inside of the city. Situated near a large train station (5min walk), the location is great. As far as communication goes, Yuri and Hori are proactive, kind, and welcoming hosts. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here!

"Hidden Land ~ Kamihara Seiryu" "Grandmountain Park, Gemeinde, Gemeinde, Japan", a separate building, a mineral spring, a large public bath, breakfast included

ShaunRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Our journey began with a short drive from Taketa. The guest house is located in an idyllic countryside location alongside a river. The area felt peaceful and enchanted. Taiji welcomed us with a quick tour of the house, which is rich with history and character. The kaiseki dinner was the highlight of our stay. Every dish was impeccably presented, made with quality ingredients, and tasted like no other! It is as if we were instantly teleported from a rustic countryside cafe to an upscale restaurant! Our breakfast was equally impressive. Adjacent to the house, there was a hut with a traditional wooden bathtub inside. Bathing there while taking in the sights of the mountain, the trees, and the gentle flow of the river creates a meditative experience where time seemed to stand still. The gentle stream provided a perfect white noise for our peaceful rest. It’s a shame that our tight schedule prevented a longer stay. Thank you Tanji and your mother for the unforgettable hospitality!

Our stay at Yamashita’s beautiful 100-year-old Japanese villa in Kyoto was the perfect way to end our 2 week vacation in Japan. The house is spacious, very clean, and well-equipped, perfect for our group of 12. It has everything you need and more. It has a serene garden, jacuzzi, and sauna—the kids especially loved the jacuzzi! Yamashita is an EXCEPTIONAL host—very warm, helpful, and accommodating. She drove us to supermarkets and places we wanted to go and even picked us up for a small fee. She prepared simple yet delicious breakfasts. She was quick to respond to messages and even guided us on using local buses. Though the house is a bit far from the touristy areas, the peace and quiet of Yamashita’s home made it the perfect retreat. It offered a more authentic and relaxing experience of Japan. I highly recommend Yamashita’s villa to anyone looking for comfort, culture, and outstanding hospitality. And to anyone looking for a truly memorable stay in a traditional Japanese home.

What a beautiful traditional Japanese home to stay We totally loved the old house, beautiful decorations, the inner courtyard and our room. Everything was perfect! Chieri is a great host, we felt very welcomed and home right away. We were on a road trip, so we also enjoyed that we could wash our clothes. And we tried out the traditional japanese bath. Perfect! Chieri, thank you for everything! Hope to see you someday again!
