Cottage vacation rentals in Japan

Akiko is a great host and her accommodation is fantastic. We (the four of us i.e. 2 couples) stayed at this great lodging. The "ladder stairs" up to the upper (attic) room was unique. The kitchen was fully furnished. We did not get a chance to use the jacuzzi or BBQ as it rained the whole day on the second day. Clear instructions were provided for the removal of trash as well as for the use of the sower faucet in the bathroom. The narrow tunnel leading to Akiko's place was interesting and luckily we did not meet a vehicle from the opposite direction during our stay. The hike around the surrounding areas was great. We would certainly book Akiko's accommodation in future during autumn season to see the foliage. Thanks Akiko!

最高の経験ができました。 まず、バーベキューグッズが豊富に揃っており、アウトドアの楽しみが一層広がりました。オーナーさんはとても親しみやすく、質問やリクエストにも迅速に対応してくださり、安心感がありました。そのホスピタリティも素晴らしく、気配りが感じられました。 また、夜空が驚くほど綺麗で、満点の星空を堪能することができました。都会ではなかなか見られない、贅沢な景色でした。室内も快適で、暖房機器がしっかりしており、寒い夜も心地よく過ごせました。さらに、アメニティが充実していたので、細かい点でも安心して過ごせました。 全体的に、素晴らしい体験をさせていただきました。次回もぜひ再訪したいと思います。

Absolutely fantastic place – I highly recommend it! The view is stunning, and the host was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. He assisted with everything we needed and answered all our questions promptly. For the price, this place is an amazing value. The outdoor hot tub was a highlight – hot, clean, and perfect for relaxing. Would definitely stay here again!

外のジャグジーは、開放的ですが女性は周囲の目が気になるかと思います。 心おきなく楽しむためには水着が必要です。部屋も使い勝手がよく、必要なものは全て揃っていました。 車高が低い車は敷地のすぐ下に停めさせてもらえます。(坂が上がれないので) 車高がが低くない車は敷地内に停めらます！ お風呂もキッチンもとても良いです🛁*。 近くのベイシアで買ったものを外で焼いて食べたらとても楽しかったです！

Great house for me and my 6 friends. Walking distance to the town, roughly 10 minutes Rubbish was always grabbed if put in the outside bin. Great communication Host come and cleaned house half way through our stay and also restocked towels and kitchen

The home was even better than the pictures! We had been traveling a lot in very tiny homes and this was a very needed break and space. There was a beautiful babbling stream along the whole property that was so peaceful. It basically had everything you needed and more. The major recommendation would be a rental car, if you didn’t come with one. It’s not like the other major cities where everything is walkable. We were able to rent a car with ease at JR care rental at Kobuchizawa Station. The taxis are expensive here. We are from the US and you will need to get an international DL Before you travel from AAA for $20, super simple and fast. Remember to drive on the left side. We went to Suntory Whiskey Museum and was very nice history. There are also nice trails with beautiful waterfalls. You need a car for this. Hot water for the whole house needs to be on couple minutes before using just by pressing the far left button and doesn’t stay on long so will need to remember to turn on.

ハウス内は清潔感に溢れており、また、ホストさんのこだわりが随所に感じられる素敵なお宿でした。 おかげさまで不自由なく３泊を過ごすことができました。 今回は６人での宿泊で、もう数名増えたらやや窮屈に感じられるかも？(水回りやダイニング)といったところですが、これくらいの人数であれば快適に過ごせます。 ハウスクリーニング無し·バスタオル交換のみといったこちらのニーズにも柔軟にご対応していただきました。

掲載情報通りで、とても快適でした！ 冬に宿泊させていただいて駐車場に停めた車が心配でしたが、朝除雪してくれてあったので助かりました！

We spent Chrismas here, and our fmaily had a blast! They gave us a Christmas Tree which we were not expecting to have, nor did we ask for but were so pleasantly surprised! The owners were helpful with everything and communication was clear and super supportive. We had a blast and really loved the space, especially the kids! We rented a car in Naha and drive up the taking the scenic route up route 58 about an hour and 47 min drive. Can get there faster and in about an hour, but its a perfect launching point to head out make it to other areas of the north of the island, the Churaumi Aquarium, and we visited the Nakijin Castle ruins (both respectively amazing!). There were also many places to eat on the road and we found some good local spots nat far from the house, Shogun Burger and an Hawaiian Themed restaurant at the bottom of the hill! The house was the highlight of our AirBnB experience this year for sure! Definitely stay if your thinking about it, we hope to return!

A truly special place surrounded by nature! The location is peaceful and beautifully set in the heart of Iriomote’s tropical landscape. Rey is a wonderful host – so warm, thoughtful, and attentive. We felt completely taken care of and right at home from the very first moment. Perfect for anyone who loves nature and genuine hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!

2階からの海の風景と夕日が最高でした。 お部屋も大変綺麗で、大満足です。

ペットと二泊三日で宿泊させていただきました。1日目は残念ながら雨でしたが、室内でも楽しめるようホットプレートやプロジェクターが用意されていました。 お庭が非常に広く、ペットの犬も走り回ることができ大満足です。 また勝浦を訪れる際は是非利用させていただきたいです。ありがとうございました。

Hele fijne plek op een prachtige afgelegen locatie. Een goede manier om een deel van Japan te zien dat afwijkt van de ‘toeristische highlights’, een waardevolle toevoeging aan onze reis! De gastheer en gastvrouw zijn enorm vriendelijk en gastvrij en hebben heerlijk voor ons gekookt!

Cozy as hell, tons of space. Great for a big family. This place is perfect for surfers, access to the beach is close by, with an amazing ocean view to boot. We loved Yugawara but renting a car would probably be better for next time.

We felt right at home! The home had everything we needed- including nice toys and beds for our kids. Rie was so helpful- thank you! Great collection of advice and always happy to help. We would love to stay here again when we come back to Okinawa!

We travelled as a group of five (one couple and one family of 3), and Shinya’s place was perfect with two self-contained units. The grounds were peaceful and beautiful in Autumn, and his mother’s sponge cake was a wonderful breakfast. He gave us local recommendations of places to visit and restaurants to try. The kitchen is also well equipped for eating in. We had a very restful and enjoyable time there.

景色もよく食器や調味料等充実していて良かった

The place is clean and comfy, got tools to cook and would be even better if they provide salt, pepper and oil.

とても素晴らしい滞在でした！ 前日の予約にもかかわらず、すぐに返信をいただけて、とても安心できました。釧路の美味しいお寿司屋さんも教えてくださり、旅の楽しみが増えました。 雪が急に降って到着が遅れてしまいましたが、チェックインはとてもスムーズで助かりました。お部屋も複数あって、子どもたちとゆったり別々に寝られたのも良かったです。 暖炉の使い方も丁寧に教えていただき、火を囲んで過ごす時間はとても温かく、印象的でした。馬に餌をあげる体験もできて、子どもたちも楽しそうにしていました。 自然に囲まれたロケーション、整った設備、そして何よりホストの温かいおもてなしに感謝です。次はもう少しゆっくり滞在したいと思います！

Very nice house and recommended!

This was our first time in Japan and our host truly made the experience so much more enjoyable. She helped us with getting to certain places, always responsive, and so kind. If you need a place to stay away from the loud city life of Tokyo this is the perfect place. From the peaceful views, the walkable park, and the kindness and peacefulness of the people in town…it was exactly what I needed. I can’t wait to come back again.
