Her house is beautiful - stylish, warm, cosy and homely - and as well as giving me the chance to catch up on some well needed sleep, provided me with inspiration for my own home. The views of the estuary are incredible and having a shower whilst looking across to Appledore was quite a treat! Julie was quick to respond to all communication and was very welcoming. Her breakfasts were delicious and she gave an excellent recommendation for Sunday lunch - The Westleigh Inn. I look forward to returning in the future with my partner. Thank you!”

What guests are saying:“This is a great cosy cottage right in the heart of Instow and literally 30 seconds from the beach. The cottage was cosy and warm and has great views of the beach and estuary. It was a great place for a cold damp January as a really peaceful getaway. Even though there are pubs and cafes really close it was incredibly quiet at night. The cottage, beach and Instow is all very dog friendly and there are plenty of good walks from the cottage. Lucy is a very thoughtful host as there were lots of breakfast provisions in the fridge waiting for us that meant we didn't have to go out shopping immediately - in addition there was a bottle of Prosseco - such a nice touch. The place is spotlessly clean and the shower over the bath was lovely and powerful. There is a well equipped kitchen and the wifi and TV set up are good so its a really easy place to just get away and relax in. Thanks Lucy”
Beautiful dog friendly 2 bed cottage right by all year dog friendly beach. Sleeps 5 with second bedroom with double bed bunk beds. With attention to detail to help guests enjoy their relaxing stay, from luxurious bed linen, & bathrobes, to ready to light fuel fire on those chilly evenings. Sunny Courtyard garden & garden furniture. Right in heart of Instow village with 4 pubs & a lovely deli/shop you wont need to start your car from the time you arrive to the time you won't want to go home

Pauline and Steve clearly want their guests to enjoy their time at Anchor Cottage and have added lots of very thoughtful touches both for human and canine guests. Instow itself is very charming with a fantastic beach and the Tarka Trail running through it. There is a good choice of places to eat and lots of interesting places to explore nearby. I would highly recommend Anchor Cottage and hope to return soon.”
