Barn vacation rentals in Hauraki Gulf / Tīkapa Moana

The accommodation was beautiful & had a unique layout which we loved. It was a lovely weekend out of the city to enjoy the beaches with my husband & dog. The place had everything we needed & was close to all the spots we wanted to visit ☺️ the info & recommendations were great from the host!

If we were to describe our stay in 3 words it would be: peaceful, beautiful and high quality. We had the best stay. It was spacious, well appointed and had everything we needed. Liz and Dan respond quickly and were so friendly. Would 💯 recommend staying here.

We had such a lovely ‘mini-moon’ at The Black Barn. The perfect spot to spend the night after a long day of getting married. The place was impeccably clean, had everything we needed for the night. We couldn’t check in until after 7pm and were offered a later check-out to help compensate for that, how special! The Ferrero Rocher’s on the bed, were such a thoughtful touch. Alexa to turn the lights/kettle on and open the blinds was amazing. We will 100% be returning & would go as far as saying it’s Number 1 on our top 5 stays 😍 Thank you so much for having us.

This place is stunningly beautiful and we did not want to leave, it's one of 'those' places where you always try to stay an extra night because of how it makes you feel. It goes above and beyond the pics and description, some pics don't do it justice to be honest, and when we first arrived we could not believe our luck. So we ended up asking to stay an extra night and Steve was very accommodating and helpful and made it happen even though we gave him short notice. The view from the big stylish deck is breathtaking, the native birds and the faint sound of ocean below....there is something extremely special about this place that can't be put into words. That's not even taking into account the shared sauna, shared cabana, the huge projector for TV, the piano (so grateful to be able to play on a real piano again), foozeball, fairy lights, stylish decking. Didn't want to leave and its been incredibly inspiring to us, to see what someone can do with their land! You have to stay here!

Great little get away! The fitout is beautiful and very spacious. Very comfortable and lovely!

Pauline and Ross were amazing hosts. It was great to meet you both and talk surfing adventures. We felt right at home and would HIGHLY recommend The Barn. We absolutely loved the location and how peaceful it was. We enjoyed an afternoon visit from the chookies too. The proximity to the beach was amazing. It was just right there. The place is fully equipped with a great kitchen and had everything you would need for a couple Days or a couple weeks. Thanks again for having us. Hope to be back in the future. This is the kind of place I’d give 10 stars if you could.

Booked the barn to sleep my family of 6, however only 3 of us ended up travelling to Auckland over Easter. My 2 year old LOVED the animals on the property, it was fun to go pet & feed them in the mornings. My 16 year old, loved the arcade machine. It truly is as described. I found it to be peaceful and cosy with all the amenities a family would need. Plenty of things to do on/in the property. I hope to book again in future so those who missed out can enjoy this slice of paradise. Comfy beds, and enough room for everyone to have their own space to relax and unwind. Excellent place for our one night stay on the way north to Bay of Islands. Wished we could have stayed longer. Beautiful views from the verandah and short stroll to the beach.
