Architect Renovated Historic King William Home

The house is perfect for a family, a group of friends, or a couple who is looking for a comfortable, intimate, beautifully-designed space to call home. The house features a mix of original and new materials, numerous windows and sliding glass doors connecting spaces to the tree filled property, and many unique architectural details. The design is definitely unique among any home you have stayed in before--we had fun with these rooms! The house has 3 different living areas, including a great room with an open kitchen (fully appointed), sitting area, and dining area that looks over an outdoor patio. Relax in the front to enjoy activity on the street, in the back for more privacy, or upstairs to look at out over the trees. The kitchen and pantry are filled with new appliances and all of the essentials, including a microwave, coffee-maker, glassware and dishes, etc. The smart television has basic television stations with Netflix and Amazon subscriptions. Multiple wifi stations allow for great connectivity throughout the 3 story house. Each bedroom has queen-sized beds with nightstands, lights, and outlets on either side of the bed. The guest bathroom has a tub with stand-up shower tiled in marble. The master bathroom is a one of a kind, contemporary design with an abundance of natural light and connection to its own private, exterior porch. All rooms have ceiling fans that will do a lot to make the space comfortable year-round, especially when combined with open windows on a lovely day. However, on hot summer days and cold winter nights, 4 separately zoned systems will do the heavy lifting to efficiently heat and cool the space. The home features 100-year-old long-leaf pine on many walls, all of which is original to this 1907 house. The hardwood floors are also original, with new oak floors in the back dining and sitting areas. New white-washed pine boards line the other walls with 3 exposed brick chimneys. The east-facing windows get beautiful morning light while the west facing windows keep the space well lit in the evening. Don't forget to enjoy the front porch--perfect for relaxing outdoors with great street/people-watching or the back patio where you can sit under the trees and connect with the back living spaces. There is also a laundry room with new washer and dryer for guests staying a number of days. The main house and its porches are private to you during your stay. There is also a backhouse (separately rented, see our other listings) and side studio (separately rented) on the first floor of the main house that has its own porch and entrance along the driveway. If available, you can book them all to suit your needs. We ask that you respect other guests that might be staying on the property. There are two dedicated parking spaces for the main house in the back, a third parking space is dedicated to the back house. If necessary, street parking is readily available even at busy times (like First Friday), we generally find parking within a block or two of the house. We are happy to be as interactive as you like. Ryan will handle most communication and is often on-site to check you in for your stay. The house is also equipped with a key pad, so guests have the ability to check in at their own convenience. We currently live in Austin, but we both have work in San Antonio and stay in town frequently. We love this property-- we used to live there full time, and hope to live there again one day. The home is located in the heart of the King William historic district, a perfectly central location providing access to the River Walk (naturally gorgeous at this location) and bustling urban life. Dine at the local restaurants, browse unique shops, and explore the museums and galleries nearby. Walking is a great option! Once you arrive, you need not get in a car if you are happy using your feet to explore the local areas and downtown amenities. B-cycles (short-term bike rentals) are available nearby for a leisurely river roll or local brewery tour. A well-stocked grocery store is only a short walk or ride away (half mile). A beverage store is even closer... San Antonio's public transportation is also good and reliable. Buses and trolley cars run frequently on Alamo Street, minutes away from the house. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions, concerns, or other thoughts. We are both happy to answer questions and certainly to provide recommendations. Please note that the second floor living area has an opening to the entry space below that is surround by a guardrail but we urge parents to monitor any small children to prevent them from trying to climb the rail. Guests assume all responsibility for monitoring their children! We love this house and expect any guests to treat it with love and respect as they would their own house. Absolutely no parties or party like activity are allowed. This is not an event space. No more than 10 guests are allowed and large gatherings (dinners, events, etc) are not permitted. Commercial video and photo shoots are strictly forbidden without prior and authorized consent. Associated day-rate fees, liability waivers and copyright contracts will apply if consent is given. Please note photo shoots done without prior consent face penalties of up to $2,000 a day.

Mid-Century Mod Treehouse near Zilker Park

My place is clean, modern, private, light and furnished with attention to detail and design. It's close to Barton Springs & Zilker Park, ABGB, Soup Peddler - Real Food & Juice Bar, Gourdough's, Papalote, Phoenicia, Broken Spoke, Torchy's, Red's Porch, Kerbey Lane, Matt's El Rancho, Patika Cafe, Bouldin Creek Cafe, Wheatsville, Maria's. You’ll love the views into the trees, the location, the ambiance, the quiet near the action. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (but not child-proof). The kitchen opens into the dining area and living room, and there are two separate bedrooms. The interior space is 750 sf, and the back deck is roughly 280 sf. The large sliding glass doors in both the living room and one of the bedrooms lend an indoor-outdoor living atmosphere, adding space and the feeling of being up in the trees. My place is the back unit in a duplex. It's very private and quiet, set off from the street. I'm easy to reach via Airbnb messaging, email or phone, happy to offer local tips. And of course I'm available should anything come up during your stay, as is the housekeeper. Listen to the quietness of this green and hilly neighborhood, close to Zilker Park and Barton Springs. Alternatively, head for nearby South Lamar, which is loaded with restaurants, shops, cinemas, and cafes—there's plenty to do right nearby. My place is two blocks from a bus stop (on South Lamar that goes to Barton Springs, Bouldin Creek, downtown, etc.). 3 NIGHT MINIMUM OCTOBER 9–16 (during ACL Fest).
