[Opened in March 2025] “It's hard to travel with kids...!” Have you ever thought so? As hosts, we are also raising our 3 and 1 year old children, so we can see how it feels. Even when I travel myself. “Do you break the interior of the room?” "Why don't you run around the inn and disturb other guests?" I'm worried about it. “But I want to give my kids an experience in nature...!” We created the concept of a "child-friendly inn" where you can stay with peace of mind even when traveling with such small children. Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture is a place rich in nature.In recent years, young generations have migrated in search of good access to Kyoto and the richness of nature.It is a 5-10 minute drive from our place, and there are plenty of spots to enjoy nature throughout the four seasons, such as Lake Biwa play spots, agricultural experience park Makino Pickland, Makino Kogen Ski Resort, and more! Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. Two families visited as a place to stay while skiing at Jam Katsuyama, and Chiz was very polite and welcoming. It was a snowy day, so the children played in the snow from morning. There are also decorations at the entrance, and the traditional Japanese house is carefully used. On the other hand, the bath and water areas were renovated with the latest equipment, and the futons were very clean and comfortable. I think people from overseas will also be happy because they can experience traditional Japanese housing.

We stayed one night with a large group of 19 people, and even though we were many, the house is so spacious that it never felt crowded. The two bathrooms were a big help for a group this size, and the ofuro (Japanese bath) area was absolutely beautiful. The kitchen is large and well-equipped, which made things much easier when preparing meals. It’s truly a wonderful place to spend a night — or even longer. Unfortunately, the cherry blossoms hadn’t bloomed yet during our stay, but I can only imagine how stunning the view must be during sakura season. The large windows facing the lake offer a peaceful and scenic atmosphere. The futons and covers were extremely clean, which we really appreciated. The only small challenge was putting the bedding on the futons ourselves. But I understand it has to be like that. The owner/manager was very polite and welcoming, which made our experience even more pleasant. Highly recommended!

There was space for children to play in the eye, and they were obsessed with it, so the adults could relax and watch with peace of mind.It was an old house, so it was cold, but there was a stove and air conditioning everywhere, so we had a comfortable stay.The owner's personality was also great, and he responded to messages quickly and taught me a lot before I went, so I was able to relax like I came to a friend's house.I felt the attention to detail everywhere, and when I came to Gifu, I wanted to come here again!
