We received a warm welcome from Mark and immediately felt at home in his well equipped and comfortable apartment. He could not have been more accommodating during our stay with recommendations and suggestions to enhance our stay in Franschhoek.

Cinzia’s cottage, La Vielle Cure is a delightful old, but beautifully restored and spacious studio with oak beams, and cool tiled floors and comfortable furnishings. It is adjacent to, but completely separate from Cinzia’s home. The modern kitchen is very well equipped and we cooked some delicious meals! The courtyard is quiet and peaceful with a lovely mountain view. Cinzia is an attentive, charming but unobtrusive host who promptly responded to all our requests. The cottage is very close to town with all it has to offer, and within walking distance of the Wine Tram depot, although we didn’t use it. We would definitely recommend Cinzia’s place and would love to return one day.

Mongoose Manoor is our absolute favourite Airbnb accommodation ever. This gorgeous hidden gem is nestled in the wine farms which surround Franschhoek and is an easy 15-minute walk to town. The unapologetically bold interior exudes personality, providing a refreshing change from the ubiquitous grey and neutral decor one is usually subjected to. There is an overall sense of generosity, with the enormous bed, which is fitted with lovely linen and a down duvet, and you’ll find everything you could possibly need, from make-up removal wipes in the bathroom to fresh milk, juice, and fruit in the fridge. My favourite was the expansive pool, which is just for the use of the cottage. If you want to experience all the delights that Franschhoek has to offer while also escaping the noise of the world, this place is perfect for you. It is a quiet retreat where you can enjoy long hours of sleep and read your book in peaceful solitude.
