Monthly Rentals in Fort Davis

MOST IMPORTANT - The Wildlife! There is a huge pack of non-native rams that roam freely but at a good distance from the property. There are deer, boar, hummingbirds, and a host of other wildlife in the area. Nothing disturbed us and we felt 100% safe. Deanna’s place is perfectly located for ppl that want to experience many areas of west Texas. We took a day trip to Big Bend, spent a day in Marfa and Valentine, we drove up to Monahans State Park, PLUS Fort Davis and McDonald Observatory were only a few minutes away. Or you can hike on the property, which we didn’t get to do this time. Deanna greeted us upon arrival, and was very helpful with giving us tips about the local community. The space was clean and comfortable. Would love to come back again.

I got sick and wasn’t able to travel and Jennifer was really responsive and kind. It was too late for me to cancel. She gave me recommendations for a couple restaurants based on a couple criteria I had. I look forward to staying another time!

I had a great stay in the tiny house. Place is exactly as described and in the pictures. Glenda has provided everything you might need for your stay and even provided some welcome snacks. Directions and check in were easy. It's a great location to visit the McDonald Observatory, Davis Mountains State Park, and Ft. Davis National Historic site. The Overland Trail Museum is right behind the house, but it unfortunately was not open when I was there. It's also an easy drive to Alpine and Marfa to explore things there (I recommend the Museum of the Big Bend in Alpine). The tiny house is in a great spot in Fort Davis. Stone Village Market is a block away. There's also a larger grocery store just down the road. Check out the Davis Mountains Nut Company just across the highway if you like pecans! Would definitely stay again if I'm ever in the area again.

Gary was a great host and always available if needed. It was easy to find and his place is up in the mountains almost on top. Lots of wildlife around especially friendly deer and birds everywhere. The State Park is a few miles away and a great place to hike. The skies are clear and great for observing the night skies. Huge difference between large town light pollution and Gary’s rental at Fort Davis. I was there for astrophotography which did not disappoint. Local grocery store is very close with everything you may need including takeouts. Very nice and peaceful there with the fresh air. Nice King size comfortable bed. TV in both the bedroom and living room if you want to watch, but who needs a TV with everything else to do. WiFi connection was good and reliable. I would highly recommend it.
