Family-friendly vacation rentals in Folsom Lake

The house was a beautiful location to have a barbecue and celebrate my sister 70th birthday. Host met us and gave us a tour and showed us how everything works. It had everything we needed and the space is really great. The river views are just beautiful and we enjoy spending time on the patio . Great restaurants all around. I highly recommend this location.

The location of the rental was very close to a Safeway and a EV charging station. All walkable from the rental.

Our stay was amazing! The house was beautifully equipped, we felt right at home. The mattresses were SO COMFORTABLE - the pillows were nice and fluffy - AND CLEAN. Everything was so clean. The neighborhood was AMAZING - safe and quiet - great place to take an evening walk. Located right near the freeway! Would def. Stay again!

Nice, well kept building. Right in the heart of Sacramento. Walking distance to Old Sac and the Capitol area. Nice balcony. All appliances function well. Well stocked. Easy, clear instructions from the host. Large TV in the living room. Kitchen well stocked. Locked parking - reserved spot. Very clean, exactly as seen in photos. Excellent communication with host. Great Wi-fi. Highly recommend if you are in Sacramento for business or for fun.

Cynthia is wonderful and welcoming. I enjoyed having the opportunity to chat with her after I checked in to the property. The studio is comfortable and quiet. The backyard is so pretty and inviting. Loved picking oranges from the gorgeous tree in the garden. Cynthia’s sweet pup, Toby, is a delight and an excellent co-host. I look forward to future stays.

Our stay was perfect. The pictures were accurate and the place was as described. It was a surprise for my wife who loves Spanish architecture so she was thrilled. Olga was a great host making sure we had everything we needed. We will most definitely stay there again, especially in the summer.

A lovely quaint and peaceful place. Peggy was extremely communicative and helpful throughout my stay, answering all my questions promptly and providing valuable local tips. I would highly recommend this property and host to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Funky little space with character galore. My wife and I stayed here for a few days while in town for a wedding, and it was always fun throwing open the blinds and looking out at the mannequins in the yard (if only to verify that they had not moved during the night, ha). Host was more than great, very communicative and super helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I were in town for a few days and felt very comfortable and safe at Carrie’s place. She also provided a parking pass for our car and we didn’t have issues with street parking. Very central to lots of restaurants and coffee shops!

This was our second stay in the Inkling and it was just as comfortable as last time. This place is so well located to downtown and for getting out and exploring the surrounding area - which we did.

I have stayed here 3 times and each time is lovely. The house is comfortable and clean and the landscape is beautiful. Didn't want to leave.

This place felt like home! The hosts thought of every possible need, from fishing to crosswords! Absolutely ZERO complaints! 10/10 experience!

Very clean and peaceful home. Equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The horses were beautiful to see from the window every morning. They accepted our pets and home was pet friendly- their dogs do roam the property but pretty much stayed away from the guesthouse. Convenient and safe location! Would definitely stay again. We all loved the house, the surroundings, and peaceful/quiet setting. It was comfortable, clean, well stocked, etc. Everything regarding our stay was A+! The pool table was a big hit too. Don & Cynthia are extremely helpful & went above & beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Our group had a wonderful time and we would love to come back. Thank you for letting us use your beautiful home.

This is the first time we try to bring our 4 years old to ski. She had a great memory to live in Catherine's amazing home. She is super friendly and patiently with all our questions. Also she has tons of acknowledge about this area. Also I was shock by how much DVD funs she has in the house. Also lots of toys. It is really perfect place for family trip like us. Definitely will visit again. Only one tip for future visitor to the amazing housing. If you drive your Tesla, make sure you have the right switch plug (Ask Catharine before you come). They have L2 charging.

Stayed here with a group of friends - lots of beds so we each got our own, which is rare. The house was well stocked - kitchen, towels, etc. We enjoyed using the indoor/grotto hot tub. Cute shops & restaurants in the area (15-20ish mins). Thanks for a great stay!

Prior to check in all the way through check out, Christian was an extremely communicative host. I really appreciate that there were very clear instructions for everything. Some of us were flying in from out of state and Christian was very accommodating with an early check in. This place is huge and spaciously laid out. We hosted dinner for 12 people multiple nights and with so much space, we never felt like we were on top of each other. Our group spent a ton of time outside-enjoying the relaxing pool and lounging area. The property is maintained and beautiful. We had 3 kids with us who were obsessed with this house! Christian has so much for the kids to do that they never got bored. Seriously - between the cinema room upstairs, pool, water slide, sports outside, foosball, there was never a dull moment which is really saying something for kids! I’d stay here again when I’m in town in a heartbeat. Thank you Christian and your family for the wonderful stay, we sincerely appreciate it

I rented Don and Kathy’s home to throw a baby shower. Keep in mind there is an event fee if you’ll have guests joining for the day, but it was very reasonable, especially for everything this house and our hosts gave us in return. There was so much open green space, greenhouse was more spacious and beautiful than what it looked like in the photos, and you can tell they put a lot of love and care into this family home. It was very clean and guest ready, but you can tell people actually live here and IMO it felt made it feel warmer compared to company owned Airbnbs that feel sterile. When they say their kitchen is fully stocked, they mean FULLY stocked. Don and Kathy are excellent hosts as well - they were so responsive and responded personally to all our messages and very quickly. When you get close the roads are not lit, so for some it might be a little scary to navigate in the dark. Just drive slow and once you get to where GPS drops you off it’s easy to see the house from the road!

This was a peak experience staying at this beautiful historic home and expansive property. Kathleen couldn’t have been more helpful and warm before and during our magical stay. There is so much to do on the property that you won’t want to leave. The heated pool was awesome even in Feb and we played with all the games in the garage on the courts too. We picked fresh citrus from the orchard and enjoyed ourselves immensely. We were 15 guests who stayed overnight and everyone had a bed, but there is much more room for additional guests beyond what we had. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and the beds so comfortable. She and her team have really thought of everything! We will not hesitate to go back for another family gathering soon!

Perfect base for visiting Sacramento and surrounding areas. Accommodation was excellent and was perfect for what we required. Close to local amenities and restaurants. We would recommend staying here.

We loved our stay at the cottage! Super easy check-in and convenient parking right next to the cottage. Helen was extremely friendly and proactive to ensure our stay was great. When we realized we forgot a power adapter, she went above and beyond to lend one to us. I especially enjoyed grilling out on the large back deck. We highly recommend booking here!

We had a fantastic stay! The hosts were very welcoming (we loved the fresh eggs!) and we enjoyed the pool and outdoor cooking. Stargazing was incredible as well. Highly recommend
