The Obergasteigalm is a cozy, lovingly maintained jewel at the end of the Winkeltal valley: the hiking paradise of Volkzein. Beautiful days for two, with the family or friends away from the stress of everyday life without internet/telephone. Cozy barbecue and chill evenings with a fire pit. If the cooking spoon should rest, stop in at the managed Volkzeinerhütte. Warm shower & light available. In July we cultivate our fields (are nearby). [Not in winter]

Our rustic alpine hut is located at about 1800 meters above sea level in the Helenental under the Schleinitz (East Tyrol). Surrounded by many hiking trails, meadows inhabited by free-running cows, and forest, you will find an idyllic spot with additional wonderful views. Please let us know half an hour before you reach our farm. We will accompany you to the house. For the use of the locker key, an additional €15.00 per commenced week applies.

The house is ideal for families or groups who want to create a well-maintained holiday with high standards in a personal setting – away from the normal hotel ambience and regulated processes. The apartment "Freude" impresses with the loving furnishings with antique farm furniture, pictures, homemade embroidery on pillows, tablecloths, etc. The house was completely renovated and modernized in 2013 and has been family-owned for 3 generations.
