Great stay in Tamarindo!

We loved our stay in Tamarindo, especially at La Palapa Hotel. The beach is literally right outside. As seen in the pictures, there’s hammocks and lounge chairs for guests and a spout right outside your room to wash off the sand. Although we had a car, we didn’t use it because the hotel was walkable to restaurants and souvenir shops. The hotel provides you with beach towels everyday and cleans the room everyday. Be sure not to loose any of the towels otherwise you acquire a $20 per towel fee. If you plan to do any beach yoga, several of the classes are also 2-3 minutes away. Highly recommend this spot and we hope to be back soon!

Beautiful setting. Loved the pool. Peaceful location right on the beach. The restaurant has very good food and the most comfortable place to relax.

We loved this room! From the moment we arrived, it felt like we were in a country villa, but with the perfect balance of elegance. The AC and TV with Netflix worked perfectly and we even had a small balcony to go out for some air. The pool is very comfortable, quiet and we even loved that they let us stay a little longer than the pool's closing time to finish having a good time. We really liked the breakfast and they always tried to serve us in the best way to meet our needs, it is definitely a luxury to wake up and from 7am have breakfast and coffee ready. The staff is super friendly, I even forgot my bag in the restaurant once and a few minutes later they brought it to my room. The Playa del Coco area is beautiful, the beach is a few meters away on foot and has many green areas for walking and eating out in the village. I definitely think that getting to know Playa del Coco for 2-3 days is more than enough since it's relatively small :)

Denise was so helpful answering my questions and giving me recommendations! The hotel is very simple and has everything you need. The free breakfast is a nice touch. The room was clean and the AC worked well. The hotel is not far from the beach and main area of Tamarindo, however, there aren’t sidewalks so it’s not walkable. Denise warned me of this ahead of time. I didn’t rent a car so I took Ubers everyday and they were only $5 each way.

The facilities are very beautiful, the rooms offer a lot of peace and comfort, and are spectacular, very good service! 🙌

Our hostess was very kind and helpful as we arrived late due to airplane cancellation. She also helped us search for a lost item.

Great place and service! We reserved the entire place, 8 rooms for me and family from Guatemala, Mexico and Costa Rica and worked very well. The place is near the beach, in the middle of the forest (some animals visited us), and very nice. A large kitchen, comfortable rooms and nice pool. The personnel is very friendly!! Thank you for everything!!

We really enjoyed the stay. We loved the location because it's close to downtown for eating but far enough away from the busiest area. The kitchen in the room, the ice maker, the pool, were a big plus. Breakfast in the room was also plentiful and punctual. The staff in general was super friendly and attentive.

Great stay. Undergoing some construction but not too disturbing. Location is perfect and the breakfast is a lovely touch.

The place was great to spend a couple of nights in Fortuna, clean and a short distance from the square and restaurants. Vira was very kind in sending us personal support at a time of need, due to my inexperience. We loved it and are very grateful:)

Absolutely loved my stay here! I’ve visited this beach town in Costa Rica multiple times, and this was by far one of the most central and convenient places I’ve stayed—just a short walk to the beach and town center. The area felt super safe, the space was spotless, well-equipped, and the host was incredibly kind and helpful. Would definitely stay again!

We loved Hotel Cantarana! It was the perfect spot to relax before our wedding in Playa Grande. Love the community and how walkable everything is. Loved the coffee shop, restaurant, and private path to the beach. Everyone was so friendly and helpful too. The bed was comfy! The pool was refreshing and very much needed. Really no complaints at all.

Awesome villa with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The shared pool, surrounded by lush vegetation, was the highlight of our visit. The kids had a great time swimming when it was too hot outside. Since the pool is shared, it’s also a great way to meet people staying in neighboring villas. The villa is very close to Playa Grande beach, perfect for catching waves during the day and enjoying breathtaking sunsets in the evening. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, with even more just a short drive away. We initially had some doubts about visiting this area of Playa Grande due to reports of construction, but it was actually quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended for travelers looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo (which is just a short boat ride away) and enjoy a tranquility.

My family and I were very satisfied, the house was spacious, in very good condition, the sheets and the house in general were very clean. The location of the excellent house very close to the most beautiful beaches and shopping centers. Super recommended, the attention of the owner is very kind and flexible.

Nice place to stay, pretty good for the price, near of El Coco which is great for going out.
