Great stay in Tamarindo!

El lugar nos pareció encantador, muy aseado, justo como se indicaba en las fotos. La anfitriona nos recibió muy bien, las instalaciones limpias y hermosas. El apartamento tenía todas las comodidades que ocupábamos. Altamente recomendados. De nuestra parte muy agradecidos con la anfitriona y esperamos regresar en un futuro próximo.

We loved our stay in Tamarindo, especially at La Palapa Hotel. The beach is literally right outside. As seen in the pictures, there’s hammocks and lounge chairs for guests and a spout right outside your room to wash off the sand. Although we had a car, we didn’t use it because the hotel was walkable to restaurants and souvenir shops. The hotel provides you with beach towels everyday and cleans the room everyday. Be sure not to loose any of the towels otherwise you acquire a $20 per towel fee. If you plan to do any beach yoga, several of the classes are also 2-3 minutes away. Highly recommend this spot and we hope to be back soon!

Susan was a great host! Had lots of recommendations for local restaurants. Always helpful when we needed anything! The coffee, sugar and dish soap were always full. The grounds staff were always skimming the pool and keeping things clean and beautiful. Rooms were clean and the mini fridge was super useful! Grounds are locked and secured, offered parking for a small fee which I would recommend. Great walking distance to town and beach. Would highly recommend this place!

Our hostess was very kind and helpful as we arrived late due to airplane cancellation. She also helped us search for a lost item.

Great place and service! We reserved the entire place, 8 rooms for me and family from Guatemala, Mexico and Costa Rica and worked very well. The place is near the beach, in the middle of the forest (some animals visited us), and very nice. A large kitchen, comfortable rooms and nice pool. The personnel is very friendly!! Thank you for everything!!

Disfrutamos mucho la estadía. La localización nos encantó pues está cerca del centro para ir a comer pero lo suficientemente alejado de la zona más concurrida. Las cocina en la habitación, la máquina de hielo, la piscina, fueron un gran plus. El desayuno a la habitación también fue copioso y puntual. El personal en general fue super amable y atento.

Flor Y Bambu is absolutely beautiful - as soon as I stepped into this place I was enchanted. The casita's and tents are discreetly dotted around the space each have private hammocks and lounging areas. The planting is so cool and myriad walkways meander down to the green/blue pool area. I was tucked at one corner of the hotel and loved seeing howler monkeys play above me. Like many other reviewers I also loved the outside shower looking up at the stars. Playa grande is stunning and a very natural space. Its not built up, long may this be the case. I went on a night trip to visit some leatherback turtles nesting and this was done respectfully, about 20 mins drive. Playa Conchal and Brasilito are also fun, to get a flavour of local life. Thank you Sophie and Antoine too. Pura vida.

Great stay. Undergoing some construction but not too disturbing. Location is perfect and the breakfast is a lovely touch.

Denise was so helpful answering my questions and giving me recommendations! The hotel is very simple and has everything you need. The free breakfast is a nice touch. The room was clean and the AC worked well. The hotel is not far from the beach and main area of Tamarindo, however, there aren’t sidewalks so it’s not walkable. Denise warned me of this ahead of time. I didn’t rent a car so I took Ubers everyday and they were only $5 each way.

Dan was a terrific host. He was incredibly accommodating and helpful. I am looking forward to staying with him in the future.

Absolutely loved my stay here! I’ve visited this beach town in Costa Rica multiple times, and this was by far one of the most central and convenient places I’ve stayed—just a short walk to the beach and town center. The area felt super safe, the space was spotless, well-equipped, and the host was incredibly kind and helpful. Would definitely stay again!

We loved Hotel Cantarana! It was the perfect spot to relax before our wedding in Playa Grande. Love the community and how walkable everything is. Loved the coffee shop, restaurant, and private path to the beach. Everyone was so friendly and helpful too. The bed was comfy! The pool was refreshing and very much needed. Really no complaints at all.

Awesome villa with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The shared pool, surrounded by lush vegetation, was the highlight of our visit. The kids had a great time swimming when it was too hot outside. Since the pool is shared, it’s also a great way to meet people staying in neighboring villas. The villa is very close to Playa Grande beach, perfect for catching waves during the day and enjoying breathtaking sunsets in the evening. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, with even more just a short drive away. We initially had some doubts about visiting this area of Playa Grande due to reports of construction, but it was actually quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended for travelers looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo (which is just a short boat ride away) and enjoy a tranquility.

Mi familia y yo quedamos muy satisfechos, la casa amplia, en muy buen estado, muy limpias las sábanas y la casa en general. La ubicación de la casa excelente muy cerca de las playas más bonitas y de los centros comerciales. Súper recomendada, la atención de la dueña muy gentil y flexible.

Nice place to stay, pretty good for the price, near of El Coco which is great for going out.

Cute little hotel with beautiful amenities. The restaurant was delicious and breakfast options were a great bonus! We had the most relaxing time and highly recommend it to other guests!
