We loved our stay at this beautiful cabin retreat. Eileen is a fantastic hostess. She gave great check in instructions and we were welcomed with flowers, a personal note, and refreshments. The cabin is beautiful and everything you could need for a great stay was provided. We had a vehicle fiasco during our stay and Eileen was immediately responsive and helped us to find repair assistance. She was flexible with changing our check out to accommodate the emergency. Don’t hesitate to book this cottage! It’s close to Greenville, toTravelers Rest (a town we fell in love with) and also to many state parks.

If you would like to stay in a well-appointed mountain cabin, where you can enjoy peace and quiet without sacrificing amenities, stay here and relax. You will appreciate all the little touches that come together as an intimate experience.

I appreciated being able to stay at Susanne’s suite on my way to the Blue Wall Birding Festival. I fell asleep to the sound of rain on the roof and awoke to the melody of a Wood Thrush in the nearby forest. I was pleased with the proximity to DuPont State Recreational Forest for some morning birdwatching, and I enjoyed breakfast at the nearby Cedar Mountain Cafe. I’d highly recommend this location for a cozy place to stay in the mountains!

Heron's Roost is a lovely lakeside getaway on beautiful grounds. San and Karl greeted us upon arrival and made sure we knew where everything was for our outdoor adventures. Inside, we found the basement apartment immaculate and having a wonderful vintage vibe. Three sliding doors provide a full view of the outdoor beauty. San and Karl put some breakfast items in the fridge for us as well as a bottle of milk and instant oatmeal. We always appreciate this kind of thoughtfulness. The large built-in bookshelves hold an extensive and eclectic library along with the coolest Dart Board I've ever seen. We enjoyed fishing off the private dock in early mornings and evenings. We easily caught Blue Gill, Brim, Smallmouth Bass, and Catfish (bring worms). And, of course, we played Darts well after bedtime. We never turned on the TV. San and Karl are lovely, interesting, and respectful hosts. We hope to stay here and spend time with them again.
