Carly and her family are busy as bees on this lovely working farm, and they are also very happy to take quick breaks and chat. Fun kid energy abounds, and there’s always something going on. Make sure to order beautiful fresh eggs and delish sourdough in advance so you can slip into the production flow as easily as we did. Very efficient apartment above the barn / shop is decorated in a farmhouse semi-maximalist vibe. Deck adjacent to the veg garden is sublime; dining al fresco in the evenings is always a pleasure and I spent several peaceful hours reading under the patio umbrella. Carly readily supplied extra cooking tools as requested. Excellent shared charcoal BBQ next to the relaxing fire pit area. Overall, an excellent home base for a work trip.

The Carolina Cottage was the perfect getaway for my friend and I! We enjoyed the local restaurants and shops and also ventured into Landrum and ate at the Hare and the Hound (HIGHLY recommend), Greenville, SC, and Gastonia, NC! It was a great central location for lots to do but still enjoy the small town! I love how everyone knew everyone and looked at us like the outsiders we were! LOL! Everyone was sooo kind and friendly though! I will recommend and will most definitely be back for another visit!

Such a pleasant surprise! My husband and I made a last minute trip to visit family in the area and were so glad to have selected this place for our stay. We had a wonderful time getting to know our hosts and were grateful to enjoy their property while there. They were willing to do anything to make our trip more comfortable, fun and memorable. They even let our pups explore the property and say hi to their beautiful horses. The place itself was so clean, comfortable and spacious with everything we could need and more! We both hope that we can visit again sometime soon- I would recommend this stay to anyone looking in this area!
