This house is a work of the finest art. Beautiful curiosities in every corner, lovely garden. Do yourself a favour and stay here. We loved buying some Karoo lamb and braaing it in the kitchen fire place. They really understood the venturi effect in the 1800s when it was built; the indoor fire, local produce and exceptional gas range are a cooks dream. Not to mention the local art and beautiful old architecture. 11/10.

What an incredible stay! This little farmhouse in Prince Albert was everything we could have hoped for and more. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning scenery and peaceful surroundings. The house itself was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, making our stay feel truly special. Waking up to breathtaking views, enjoying the tranquility of the countryside, and unwinding in such a charming and well-kept space was just perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be booking again. Highly recommended!

Centrally located in the heart of Sutherland. Very big house with lof ot bedroom, comfy living room, and bathroom with geyser provided. The host gave us many tips for road planning, restaurant and place to visit. The place also nearby to Sterland Stargazing and SALT

Sure! Here’s a polished and warm review you can use: ⸻ We had a fabulous stay at Chantal’s place! She managed to accommodate us last minute, which we really appreciated. The space is even better than the photos – beautifully kept, peaceful, and full of charm. We were actually meant to stay longer but had to cut the trip short due to business obligations. A special mention to Samson, the property manager – he was fantastic and made everything smooth and easy for us. We often travel down this route and will definitely keep this gem on our radar for future stays. Highly recommend!

Beautiful home. Very well equipped. Great location and the pool is divine. As mentioned by other guests, aircon or at least a floor fan for mosquitos could be added to each room to help with that. Access through the main bedroom is odd, but thanks to the side gate means it not a problem at all. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

We stayed for 1 night on our drive from Joburg back to Cape Town. It was the perfect overnight stopover for us. We could have easily planned a longer stay after discovering how cool the Karoo National Park was on our drive out the next day. Izak did a great job stocking the apartment with everything you need and utilized the space very well. It was comfortable, private, and is on a beautiful property. We would recommend a stay here to anyone, especially for the road trippers who want a day or so exploring the Karoo.

Olyf Takkie is a gorgeous flatlet, with beautiful decor & amazing amenities. The flatlet has a 5 star hotel look, with a comfortable homey feel. Our family really enjoyed our stay. Thank you Deon for being a wonderful host.
