I can highly recommend Matoppo Inn as a stopover in Beaufort West - lovely old, but well kept Inn, with beautiful old furnishings to go with the well preserved building. Wonderful friendly staff that maintain the rooms and gardens well and offer delicious homemade meals, with a Karoo influence

One word to describe this place and home, ZEN! Beautiful home with a welcoming feel. Relaxing atmosphere at the pool and walking the labyrinth was so calming for the mind! We loved our stay, and Ampie our host was really wonderful, welcoming and accommodating. We enjoyed the restaurant “De Krans” close by. Highly recommend!

We had an incredible stay, everything is extremely neat, and clean, this includes the outside as well. Great communication, proactive, very helpful and extremely friendly. Beautiful place and great coffee and food too! My wife and I highly recommend.

Thank you Lisa and your staff for a lovely overnight stay fm Jhb to C.T. Would recommend Lisa’s place to anyone. Clean, Luxurious with everything you might need. The small details just made our stay so amazing like rusks and shampoo and body wash in the shower. And Theresa, wow thank you for an amazing breakfast and delicious homemade bread. Will definitely be returning.

An outstanding experience . Very peaceful . Three perfect hosts. Olaf has owned restaurants and is an excellent chef. Took us on Safari so we saw the caves and hippos surfacing just yards from us during lunch Don't be put off by the road. Google maps are correct, but say you are there 100 yards after the entrance on the right. Can't over praise the stay Frank

An absolute pleasure and delight to spend time with John and Esme. In equal parts welcoming and knowledgable with fabulous stories and great local advice. Room was comfortable and cool in the summer heat. Lovely garden and bathroom! Perfect to enjoy the charm of Prince Albert. Look forward to stopping by again! Thank you!

Jude & Bryan were adorable hosts, very kind and keen on proving advices and sharing their passion about the lovely region they live in. The deck was really a wonderful place to chill with a view on the peaceful surroundings. Would fefinitely recommend it to anyone coming to Prince Albert (which is by itself a piece of heaven).

Stayed over in Beaufort West to visit the Karoo National Park. This guest house is fantastic. A little oasis in an otherwise hot, dry town 😄. Room was super cool from the aircon when we arrived. Very clean and comfortable room. We lazed around the pool watching the bird life, being served G&T. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Dinner was lovely (maybe just a teeny bit expensive). Seems to be a very popular stopover for travellers en-route JHB or CT and I can see why. Highly recommended

We had a lovely 3 night stay with Colleen, we will definitely be back. Our room was comfortable and charming and it is wonderful to find a pet friendly place like this. Nothing is pretentious about the property, the hospitality is truly Karoo-country-charming in every way. The property has lovely outdoor areas to enjoy with a refreshing pool. The antique store on the property is a gem-of-a-shop, we bought some lovely little keepsakes. Thank you Colleen and Vanessa for everything!
