Very quiet and peaceful place to stay. I recommend to any couple who likes to hike and have a private place stay.

This was a very nice weekend getaway. Quite, felt safe, Very well stocked, very clean, we really enjoyed our stay.

Amazing get away to spend time with our grown kids and their families. Lots to do with the game room, fire pit, kayaks, fishing, etc… this location is pet friendly and had a very large fenced in porch with the dogs loved. We took walks on the winding country roads and met minimal cars. But those that did drive by met us with a wave and a smile. One car stopped to admire our pets and welcome us to the area and said how thankful they were to have guests in the area. We will definitely make this an annual stay.

This is the perfect getaway from life for the weekend! So cozy, relaxing and peaceful. Good for the soul. 10/10 recommend.

Cute house for a couples getaway + Dog Friendly! Hot tub was relaxing, fits 2 people comfortably. Had the AC on when we arrived which was perfect! Bed was comfortable! Owner was very responsive before and during the stay. Friendly, polite and informative. Depending on boat size, might be hard to maneuver. Roads in neighborhood and going to boat launch are not the best. Great location for Ferns Clyffe State Park and Lake Egypt. We enjoyed both. note: no one stayed in the airbnb below us which was nice. Overall, I would stay there again.

What an amazing stay we had at Wistful Cabin!!! The cabin is privately located right next to the beautiful of Shawnee National Forest. We enjoyed the hike in the trail with our dog, just a few steps away from the cabin. The cabin itself is so clean and comfortable. Jess and Brian have the cabin fully socked with every single thing you could possibly need- from a heated hot tub and robes to wear after, a pristine propane grill, comfortable fire pit, an organized kitchen with a variety of food seasonings and every type of appliance you could need to prepare any kind of food. Jess is extremely hospitable and remained quickly responsive. We truly enjoyed our relaxing time there and cannot wait to go back. Pick this listing- you will have an incredible time!

The place was beautiful and exactly what my Fiancee and my mother needed to enjoy a quick weekend trip to the wine trail. The place was spotless and the hot tub was the best! Patrick and Jennifer were very helpful and made sure the check in and check out process ran smoothly! We highly recommend this property and we will be back!

This house is amazing. Breakfast while overlooking the horse pasture, dinner out on the back deck. Everything in the house was spotless! The shower was so great. It had good water pressure! The beds were so comfy, I got the best sleep here. Better than I've gotten in a long time! The pool was clean. My kids enjoyed it, even though it was chilly out! They also enjoyed the games in the garage. My kids loved the popcorn machine, what a fun touch! The location is perfect. It's out in the country, but close enough to other towns that a run to the store doesn't take all day. It's very close to several Rend Lake Day Use Areas, which makes going out fun and easy! 10/10 Will stay again.

I decided last minute to see the 2024 eclipse in 100% totality. I drove all the way from Colorado to Marion, IL. All hotels were booked & really expensive. Then I saw Cassie's camping spot. I'm a solo female traveler with a dog & not much of a Camper so I was a little nervous, but this location was so easy to find, and felt very safe. Cassie even provided hotdogs and marshmallows for everyone. This was the perfect location to see the 2024 eclipse in 100% totality. I'll remember this always!

This quaint and cozy place was a perfect stay for our road trip. The patio was a great spot to enjoy dinner! The weather wasn’t the best but we made the best of it and did enjoy the pool for a bit.

i booked this camper for my boyfriends birthday , we had a great time ! the area is peaceful and quiet . The lake is beautiful. The view from the pool is beautiful. We had a great time and are planning on coming here more often !!!!!!!

We chose to take this trip for our daughters birthday weekend a perfect setting to get away and have the option to camp, fish, swim and able to relax around a peaceful fire while eating smores. The camper had everything we needed very nice and spacious. The beds were very comfy. The area was nice and quiet. We caught fish from the dock. The family was welcoming to the pool area. And cant forget the friendly Pugley. He was for sure a bonus he loves to play fetch.

We stayed at Cassi’s for the 2024 eclipse. The location was so peaceful. We brought our 32’ camper and she said “go anywhere in the back” so we set up in view of the pond. There were 8 others guests in tents. They were all so friendly. The kids loved playing with the dogs and kept talking about Aero and Zep all day after left. (I just realized that those dogs are probably named after Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin) Next time there’s an eclipse that cuts across Cassi’s yard you should definitely stay here! Or if you just want a nice place that’s not far from home.

I loved the amenities at this home! It was great for an extended stay and pet-friendly! The location was only a short drive from restaurants, stores, and outdoor activities. The backyard was adorable. The amenities were truly unique. Linda left a dozen of fresh eggs on the fridge and pick your own garden on the property. The home was very clean and the decor was outstanding! The host Linda was AMAZING! She was so responsive and helpful. There was no excessive check out cleaning rules like other places I have stayed. Just lock up and leave. I would highly recommend staying here and when I come back to the area I plan on staying here again! Thank you Linda! You are a wonderful human!!

Excellent location. Very private and secluded. Surrounded by water and very beautiful. House was as described. Very clean. Host was very responsive as well. Food options are very limited in the area but that’s not on the host. This is a beautiful property.

Very nice comfy cabin. Kitchen was well stocked. The beds and showers were great. We did get to take a drive to the the cross and a deer visited the front "yard" the morning we packed up. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The host was very quick to communicate. The property itself is a nice spacious getaway from the city while still being in close proximity to all amenities. The host was even kind enough to provide supplies for making s’mores, when they found out we were traveling with young children. Great experience.

Great communication! We left a few items on accident & they were so helpful to make sure they got back to us. Such a cute cabin, great outside area......the game room & covered areas were a huge plus. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area!

I was blown away by this location! It's perfectly private and gorgeous, and the deck space and fire patio made for an awesome way to chill with our friends and food! We planned to cut costs by making all our meals, and the kitchen spaces perfectly accommodated that (and even came equipped with some extra amenities we hadn't brought like ketchup, mustard, coffee stuff, etc) which saved us that extra on our quick grocery stop! We were all happy with the Wii and board games, the garage as well! The rooms were super tidy and comfortable, as were the bathrooms and really everything! Lots of space inside, well air-conditioned during 80-90s, and stay-in time was just as memorable as trips out, and that last night we all really didn't want the trip to end haha! And of course, Nikki was super responsive and helpful from the very beginning to the very end, I couldn't ask for a better host! By far the most memorable airbnb stay I've had, would love to stay again!

If you’re looking for someplace to stay as a base for the Shawnee wine trail, hiking the National Forest, or really anything in deep Southern Illinois, don’t even bother with anyplace else. I’m from the area originally and have stayed in several places in return trips, and this one is perfection. The surroundings are so private, yet it’s right off the road. It’s perfectly located less than 45 mins from Giant City State Park, and several wineries are within 15 mins. It’s got a great full kitchen and everything you’d need to cook the entire time if you wanted. Beds are great, loft is super cool, and the stamped concrete floors are a really nice touch. Really appreciated the tall shower head (I’m 6’3). And man the water pressure - outstanding! Our dog loved the long yard too. This is a great value for anyone that wants to explore the riches of the area. Thanks for a great stay!!
