We were in town for a girls get away with some hiking and Twisted Sister was perfect! Such a beautiful setting and so close to the places we wanted to go. It was super easy to get in, very clean, and had everything we needed to cook for ourselves as we prefer to do. We also enjoyed strawberries from Flamm Orchard, and great hikes at nearby Little Grand Canyon and Cove Hollow, plus of course Giant City State Park. Candace was an excellent hostess. She lives next door but gave us complete privacy. And when I had questions or wanted recommendations she was super responsive. It made us feel safe and cared for. It is so nice that she shares her beautiful property with guests in this way. We will be back!

We've stayed at Ashley's other places before but this was the first time at this house. As always the home was nicely decorated and comfortable. There was an issue with the water heater when we checked in. These things can happen, but Ashley had someone out there right away who installed a brand new water heater and made it right quickly. We'll always look for one of Ashley's places first when staying in the area.

My family had to come to Carbondale at the last minute for a family member that is in Hospice. We were so grateful to find a house they could accommodate all of us. The house was clean and had plenty of room for all of us (10 in total). The driveway made us a little hesitant because the house sits far off the road. But we had a really wonderful stay!

Lindy's place was spotless. One of my favorite features was a cute, private backyard / deck with privacy fence which made it great to visit with fellow travelers. The fire pit was well stocked with wood if we wanted to build a fire! The house is quiet neighborhood and is conveniently located with a quick 2 minute drive to campus and very close to the main road where there is a grocery store and a lot of restaurants. If you are around campus, I would highly recommend Quatros Pizza! The host was very proactive with communication. She was always friendly and gave a good explanation on how to get in. Everything was outlined in the welcome guide with the listing as well. On a separate note, when we returned the first evening there were four deer walking through the yard, which I thought was pretty cool. It was obvious they had been there before because they did not run when we got out of the car.

We had a group of 15 and this home was absolutely perfect for our stay! There’s a ton of gathering space, especially in the living room where the large couch and footrest easily accommodated everyone. The multiple dining areas upstairs also made mealtimes easy and comfortable. The kitchen was incredibly well-stocked — we cooked every meal for all 15 of us without any issues. Having the extra fridge downstairs was a huge plus for storing all our food and drinks. The outdoor area is truly picturesque. We loved lounging on the deck, soaking in the peaceful surroundings, and listening to the local wildlife. All of the bedrooms were spacious, and it was a huge bonus that everyone upstairs had their own bathroom. The home had everything we needed and more — highly recommend for large groups!

Had a great stay with family during SIUC Graduation weekend. Enjoyed being able to get outside, explore around the lake, do some light fishing and have a few campfires. Deck was an ideal hang out location and the house worked great for us. Thank you!

This house is amazing. Breakfast while overlooking the horse pasture, dinner out on the back deck. Everything in the house was spotless! The shower was so great. It had good water pressure! The beds were so comfy, I got the best sleep here. Better than I've gotten in a long time! The pool was clean. My kids enjoyed it, even though it was chilly out! They also enjoyed the games in the garage. My kids loved the popcorn machine, what a fun touch! The location is perfect. It's out in the country, but close enough to other towns that a run to the store doesn't take all day. It's very close to several Rend Lake Day Use Areas, which makes going out fun and easy! 10/10 Will stay again.

We really enjoyed staying in this travel trailer. We wanted to see what it was like, and this was a good first experience for us!

Loved staying at this location. So close to restaurants and shops and outdoor adventures. Very quiet. Amazing views of stars. Plenty of sleeping spaces. Very responsive and helpful host!

It was well worth the $! I had an amaziiiiing weekend! It’s absolutely beautiful- inside and out! The pool was SUCH a good time, I could’ve stayed in it for days! We grilled out and swam, it’s an unbelievably fun & peaceful experience. The host was extremely responsive, helpful and checked in making sure we had everything the whole stay. I would recommend it for sure! If I could give it 6 stars I would! I will definitely be staying here again!!!

We chose to take this trip for our daughters birthday weekend a perfect setting to get away and have the option to camp, fish, swim and able to relax around a peaceful fire while eating smores. The camper had everything we needed very nice and spacious. The beds were very comfy. The area was nice and quiet. We caught fish from the dock. The family was welcoming to the pool area. And cant forget the friendly Pugley. He was for sure a bonus he loves to play fetch.

It was very clean when we arrived and we really enjoyed our stay! The dogs loved it and it was very peaceful! we will be back!

We stayed at Cassi’s for the 2024 eclipse. The location was so peaceful. We brought our 32’ camper and she said “go anywhere in the back” so we set up in view of the pond. There were 8 others guests in tents. They were all so friendly. The kids loved playing with the dogs and kept talking about Aero and Zep all day after left. (I just realized that those dogs are probably named after Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin) Next time there’s an eclipse that cuts across Cassi’s yard you should definitely stay here! Or if you just want a nice place that’s not far from home.

Very quiet and peaceful place to stay. I recommend to any couple who likes to hike and have a private place stay.

The place was amazing. It was the perfect mini getaway we needed. We felt like we were in a home away from home.

Just a few words about this amazing cabin after our 7-day stay. My wife, our doggo and I stayed at the Hartline cabin and found the cabin to be meticulously clean, well-stocked and absolutely gorgeous! During the stay, we made a request to the owners and albeit a minor ask, Allison responded quickly (within seconds actually), and our request was handled right then and there. A few things one may consider if thinking about staying at this cabin. Although this place is fully capable of housing a larger group, the way in which this cabin is designed perfect for smaller groups as well. This cabin is large; however, make no mistake this place is intimate and perfect for a couple and a doggo!! The topography of this property, when viewed from Google Earth, appears flat, but this is far from reality. This property is set within rolling lush green hills with a 360-degree view and is very, very peaceful. We will be returning and may rent a golf cart next time!!

We had a great stay at Elm Cabin! It is modern, clean and the amenities are perfect, and thoughtfully done. Communication, check in/out are intuitive and stress free. The beautiful area, the private location and the submersion in nature is the antioxidant we all need. Highly recommend and we hope/plan to stay there again. Thanks Allison.

Ashley and her lakefront rental were both amazing! She made check in and out so seamless and easy , place was juys wayt we needed As makanda girl I really enjoyed the peaceful private yet safe neighborhood feel a lot It was wonderful to sit on that bench and watch the sunset over the lake and was so serene Hope to stay there again sometime Ashley was great

My husband and I had a lovely stay here. It was so peaceful and beautiful. We loved the trail around the property. I enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the birds every morning.

Loved the location for graduation weekend! Used the back yard for family and friends BBQ. Already reserved it for next years graduation weekend for more graduations then!
