Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Barren River Lake

Great spot, with comfy beds, and a nice relaxing back/front porch to have meals on. There is a train nearby that woke us up on the first night, but it’s not too loud. The house is generously stocked with staples incase you forget something at home!

We really loved the house. It felt like "home". It was in a peaceful location & very convenient to where our grandchildren live. we will definitely be back.

We had an incredible stay at Alison’s place. The location was perfect, offering stunning views of the lake and unforgettable sunsets each evening. Waking up to that beautiful landscape every day was a true highlight. Alison was exceptionally responsive and made communication effortless. The house itself was spotless, cozy, and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway.

We booked the Shug Shack for our singers we had for our annual fish fry. They loved the outdoor space with nature and Butters the resident cat. They said they had everything they needed and it felt like home. Tina was very responsive to my inquiries about the items the home had and was very friendly upon arrival. We will definitely use the place again in the future! Clean, well maintained, great space!

Such a cute home! I brought my family from out of state to spend a long weekend touring Mammoth Cave National Park and this was the perfect space! A quiet, beautiful space that was exactly what we needed and wanted for our trip. Attractions were about 20+mins out which we preferred. The space had everything needed to feel right at home and there was so much room! We had the best time and I would 10/10 recommend 😃

Wonderful stay in a beautiful location! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Cindy’s place. The house is decorated beautifully and it is oh so cozy and comfortable. My family loved playing games and there were many thoughtful touches such and s’mores supplies and a cute Christmas ornament. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to stay again!

This was our second time staying here, and Wendy's home was lovely. Worked great for two families with small kids. Easy drive to the boat ramp / marina, and a Dollar General nearby for anything you forgot at home. A fantastic lake home!

We really enjoyed our stay at Crystals spot. We only stayed for a night as we were visiting Mammoth Cave and other attractions but could have easily stayed another night. The beds were comfortable and while there was a train, I only heard it one time and it didn't keep me awake. We didn't need to use the heat which was good as it looked intimidating and as I had 2 children, would have been a little worried. My kids loved the animals around the area. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

Perfect place and location for our situation! The parking was right next to the apartment, and great accommodations. The place was convenient and clean. Highly recommended!!

Do not miss this gem of a stay! The owner gives lots of information about the area and attractions and my favorite part was the history they shared about the place we stayed. Loved it

We were in town for my son’s graduation at WKU , Sam’s place was in walking distance of everything . We had no issues with his instructions, everything ran smoothly, and his place was so clean! Thank you, Sam!

If I could leave more than 5 stars for extra credit, I would. It was an incredibly peaceful stay. The horses were serene. The dogs were so so friendly. My 10 year old LOVED the tree house and the creek. (She wants a creek in our yard now. lol) The space was exactly as described, looks just like the photos. All the comforts of home. The kitchen had any dishes, pots, pans, containers, foil, etc. you could possibly want to use. And so CLEAN! And Tracy and her family are the most lovely people. I enjoyed getting to know them. I highly recommend staying here!!!!

Overall very nice and clean and very close to Kentucky Down Under! We highly recommend eating at 5 Broke Girls in Horse Cave. This is our 2nd trip to the area and 5 Broke Girls was our first stop! We will definitely stay at Kayla’s again if it’s available!

My husband and I really enjoyed staying for the weekend. The stay was extended due to work commitments and the host was accommodating to our needs.

This is a beautiful, clean, and well appointed cabin. Lora was so kind to check in and make sure we had all we needed after our arrival, but the place was already perfect and we felt right at home. We stayed during the summer which was great for easy access to Barren River Lake, but this would also be an amazing winter rental with the cozy look of the cabin and the two fireplaces. Thank you Lora for hosting us!

The cabin at Cub Run was a perfect get away for our family! It is a beautiful, clean cabin with everything we needed and more! Kevin was great with communication and we had all of our check in and check out information in a timely manner. It was about a 45 minute drive to the Mammoth Cave visitor center and we loved sitting around the campfire in the evening. There are neighbors nearby but it was very peaceful and quiet. If we head back to the area we would definitely stay there again!

Cabin was very nice and secluded even though it was just a couple miles from town. Everything was convenient to get to. The cabin had everything we needed to cook. Loved being able to sit on the back deck with our morning coffee and also played games in the evening with the kids. Would highly recommend this place if you’re in the area looking for a quiet place to stay in the woods.

We were able to enjoy being out in the woods to relax while also having access to Franklin!

I would highly recommend this stay to any of my friends and family. It was such a homey feeling. This place brought me back to growing up on the farm minus the live stock. We look forward to visiting again.

Words are difficult to explain this very unique property. It has to be one of the best rental places with Airbnb. Total tranquility and so close to nature, teeming with wildlife. On my first walk around the property (the paths through the woods are well maintained and signed) I saw deer, rabbits and squirrels. I wish I could have stayed longer as the peaceful atmosphere of the site was amazing. I enjoyed sitting on the front deck for breakfast in the sun and the rear deck overlooking the river to read. With this property you don't rent somewhere to stay, you rent an entire package. Richard the host couldn't be more friendly and helpful.

We had a great time at this place - enjoying easy access to Mammoth Cave and so many other activities the area had to offer. The hot tub was fabulous, especially for our kiddos. Phillip was super responsive and always provided helpful information in advance. If we come back to the area, we'd definitely stay again.
