Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Arouca

Great host and lovely property. We we’re arriving after vacationing in Italy and we’re delayed. We arrived well after 2 am and the host’s representative was gracious in showing us the place. It’s a gorgeous part of an old farm that has been lovingly maintained. We hope to visit and stay again in the spring.

Amazing place, perfect for a rest time in the midst of nature. Luisa is very friendly and ready to help with anything. The accommodation is very beautiful and cozy, and the structure of the Quinta is great for going with children.

I was really delighted with the house. It is located in a nice and quiet area, everything was very clean and in order, a very comfortable place to rest

Great stay at Cancela House! The house is as described: charming and atypical, bucolic setting, quiet, neatly decorated, well-equipped. A small peaceful haven in the small mountain, surrounded by eucalyptus forests. It felt good there. Special mention for the very nice dining/barbecue shelter, the charming pool with views and the pretty courtyard (with great sunbeds). We loved the setting and this house! Fatima was warm and responsive. Very easy interaction. If you like authenticity, typical (and atypical at the same time) accommodations, discover this corner of the mountain, discover Arouca Geo Park (passadiços de Paiva + Arouca 516)… Go ahead!

We had a lovely week at the house and the surrounding nature. The house was beautifully located, well equipped and clean! Although we had very rainy weather during our stay, we still enjoyed beautiful hikes and the house offered a cosy refuge for us. Would stay here again and would definitely recommend it to anyone else. Thank you for the hospitality António!

The house is nice, very spacious and clean. We spent 3 days as a family with our pet and we didn't miss anything. Inés' recommendations were very accurate and the place is quiet and easy to visit. The weather was quite pleasant during our stay and helped us sleep at night. Without a doubt, the description of the house and the site is 100% reliable and of course, I recommend it for sure.

Once again, an excellent experience at Casa da Ribeira. The space was pristently clean, with a very pleasant outdoor space and the hostess, as always, excellent.

Large space, good rooms, cleaning, utensils and small appliances, direct access to walk, friendliness and readiness of the owner. The house is elevated, on top of commercial space.

It is a lovely place in a quiet part of town but close to restaurants etc. very helpful.

We stayed for one night while traveling through to Spain. The apartment has the luxurious feel of a hotel room, however it is much more spacious and has some authentic touches. A well-equipped kitchen included. The apartment was spotless, a very good experience.

5* people, very attentive, always willing to help, lots of directions on what to visit, a spectacular experience for those who like nature and good conviviality! Very well located just 5min from the center of Arouca.

This place is awesome! Right in the center of Arouca. It honestly has been the best place we have stayed in our 6 week journey around Portugal. The Pros: - everything this apartment is perfect and decorated so nicely. - Maria is great and so so helpful. Her husband too was very nice. Maria was literally available at any time. Really amazing host. - Arouca is such a cute town. Food was excellent. - canyoning and walkways was extremely memorable. Highly recommend!! The Cons: - nothing, can’t think of a single thing! Thanks Pedro and Maria for a most memorable time in Arouca!

Pedro was fantastic! Met us at the door and helped carry our bags up. Gave us the full tour of the apartment and gave us complimentary wine and water. The best part was that he sent a whole list of recommendations for things in the area and each one we did was a 10/10. We had an amazing stay in Porto, mainly in thanks to Pedro.

Ricardo was an amazing host, very responsive and helpful being we were visiting from another country. The apartment is in a great location, felt safe and exactly as described.

We had a wonderful week in Felipes apartment. As host, Filipe was the most helpful we have ever had. Local tips, helpfulness and service - and a nice sence of humour. The apartment were big, and the terrasse is a wonder with it's stunning view. We have already booked our next stay at Filipes; actually we did, whilst we were sitting i the apartment:-)

Lovely apartment, spacious and well equipped. The river views from the balcony and all the main rooms were stunning. Luis was really helpful with lots of suggestions about eating places and sightseeing. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice location, close to several restaurants and places to visit. Surprising quiet since it is located in the historic district. We loved this place. Only downside, there was no heating, so we were a little cold at night and in the morning.

The flat was ideal for our visit to Porto. It is very convenient to have the trams into town right outside and the supermarket underneath the apartment. There was also a car hire available just a five minute walk up the road and if we needed it there was a garage which is a real bonus for parking. The flat had everything we needed and was comfortable and made a perfect base for our eight day stay.

Chris' Place in Porto was a lovely oasis and a valuable home base for visiting a good deal of the heart of Porto. For the two of us it was a beautiful, creative space with many thoughtful touches. I could see it being a major benefit for a family with kids as well.

Really enjoyed the apartment. Very clean and nice. The host was very responsive and helpful. I would definitely stay there again. The location was perfect and central to everything.
