Shanks' Ponderosa House w/ EV Charger and Hot Tub

AnnaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Tchukon and Carolyn’s home was great! We were a group of 7 and the space fit us all well. Extremely clean, I think the cleanest Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. The hosts were responsive and included lots of helpful information for the house. Backyard is wonderful, and we all really enjoyed the hot tub, especially at sunset. Would absolutely recommend staying here.

12 Secluded Acres near Yosemite National Park

JuliaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Wow---what a special place to stay, we highly recommend! Beautiful location, several decks/outdoor spaces to choose from, super comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, lots of light. Beverly and Ron are fabulous hosts, and anticipate every need for guests with their well equipped home and clear directions. We had a fantastic visit--long days in Yosemite and such a treat to come "home" to such a quiet, comfortable spot. Beverly was very helpful and responsive, answering so many questions about how to plan our visit to Yosemite even before we arrived. l

3 Acres on Miami Creek 20 Miles to Yosemite

LeighRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a great tenth anniversary celebration and were able to spend a few days at Yosemite. On the last night we dined at Idle Hour which we recommend for their wine tasting and their food. Robert provided the perfect place for our second honeymoon. It was very relaxing and close to stores and food establishments as well as hiking and natural beauty. It is a wonderful cabin tucked into the woods.

Motherlode Miners Cabin-On the way to Yosemite.

AlisonRating, 5 stars6 days ago
We had a incredible stay at Jillian's cabin to finish a 3 week road trip finishing at Yosemite before driving back to San Francisco. We loved the peace & quiet, the views from the balcony and quality of the accomodation. It's one of the best Airbnbs I've ever stayed in and I would thoroughly recommend it if you like a peaceful, private environment with towns and interesting places nearby. Jillian and Richard were welcoming hosts, communicative and friendly. We enjoyed stargazing and spotting wildlife from the balcony and appreciated the eggs Jillian left us from her chickens. We felt we'd struck gold staying here for 2 nights and we're able to fully relax after a busy, full on trip.

This place was a great base of operations for our trips into Yosemite. Anne even reached out a few times between booking and the date of our trip with updates about the park's plans for the season. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Charming 3 Bedrooms -INSIDE Yosemite National Park

DorisRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We loved being so close to the park. The house was a very unique design with a large spiral staircase connecting the bedrooms to the kitchen and living area. The only negative was that I was not aware that they were not quite finished cleaning the exterior yard of recent construction. It distracted from the beautiful landscape and surroundings.

Modern Cabin with private Jacuzzi

RehmaanRating, 5 stars1 week ago
I had a wonderful stay at Michael’s place! It was peaceful, safe, and had everything I needed for a comfortable trip—including a full kitchen and a relaxing jacuzzi, perfect after a long day of hiking. The location is fairly close to Yosemite, making it a great base. I especially loved the patio in the backyard—stargazing at night was nice. Michael was incredibly proactive and responsive, even with late-hour questions, and his recommendations were spot-on. Would definitely stay here again!

Bear Foot Pines inside Yosemite Park!

MelanieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This cabin made our stay in Yosemite so much more magical. It was cosy and comfortable and exactly what a cabin should be. We liked Wawona as our ‘basecamp’ and enjoyed coming back to it each day after being in the Valley. The cabin looks better than it does in the pictures. Only thing we would add is: new boardgames! The ones that are there are old and incomplete. We brought our own so we were good. :)

Lakeside Serenity: Cozy Chalet near Yosemite

AndreaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Loved our 4 night stay at Brian's place! It was a well-equipped, comfortable Airbnb for 4 adults and a great location for visiting Yosemite each day (about 35 minutes to the park entrance, an hour and 15 minutes to the welcome center). It had all the amenities we needed to cook our own meals each night and was only a short, 5-minute drive away to the Groveland grocery store, restaurants, and shops. Pine Mountain Lake itself was lovely - great place to dip our feet in after walking in Yosemite all day.

Cozy Cottage Nestled Under the Oaks “Oak Nest”

AriannaRating, 5 stars6 days ago
This was an absolutely beautiful stay. The cabin is not just beautiful on the outside but the inside as well. The cabin itself wasn’t the main event for me though… the view from the backyard was just stunning. I found myself keep the doors open to the balcony the entire time despite the 90 degree weather just to look at it. Sherie, was kind and considerate. I hope to stay here again in the future!

Nini's Cottage : Fish Camp / Yosemite

MarcRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
Beautiful, cozy cabin tucked into the woods in FishCamp. Only a little more than 5 minutes to the south entrance of Yosemite, 10 minutes to Oakhurst and maybe 30 minutes to Bass Lake. The cabin has everything a couple or small family needs to relax and enjoy all the surrounding area has to offer… or just do nothing and enjoy a romantic couple of days. Special little touches include supplied coffee beans, bagels, cream cheese, butter and jam, oatmeal and even a couple of Ghirardelli chocolates. There are 2 decks in which to enjoy the sound of the creek or is it a babbling brook? Ha! The big deck has 2 seating areas and a new grill to cook up some steaks or burgers and the other deck is off the bedroom to enjoy a nice cup of coffee. Lastly Heidi and her team are fantastic! I truly hope to stay here again soon, so do yourself a favor if you are reading this and hit the book now button. you will not be disappointed in the least!

Winemaker's Cottage

NatalieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had an amazing stay at Winemaker’s Cottage. It is situated on serene vineyard with beautiful views and bird singing in the background. Inside place is cozy, comfortable and has all the conveniences a traveler may need. About an hour from South Entrance to Yosemite it was a perfect location for our getaway. Jason and Kris are the kindest and most welcoming hosts. AT&T phone users - keep in mind there is no service in the area, may be a nice opportunity to unplug. Overall - memorable and magical vacation.

Your guide to Yosemite Valley

Welcome to Yosemite Valley

Things can get a bit confusing when it comes to place names here. Yosemite Valley is a town outside Yosemite National Park. It’s also the name of a place inside the park that is, well, maybe one of the prettiest places on Earth. And Yosemite Village is the name of the place inside the town of Yosemite Valley where (mostly) park employees live. Yosemite Village is a stopping point for those en route to the main event — the park — but you’d be wise to slow down and appreciate this little town. Construction began on the 46-acre village in 1918, led by preeminent landscape architect Charles Punchard Jr., who called for winding streets and rustic buildings made of granite, river stones, and logs, a style that would define the look of the entire national park system. The village is home to 68 historic buildings, and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Yosemite Valley

Yosemite National Park is open year round, so deciding when to visit depends on what kind of experience you seek. Summer is warm to hot, and ideal for hiking. It’s also a high season when crowds and traffic are dense. Fall brings fewer crowds, a range of hot and cool weather, rain showers, and even snow. Snow blankets the park in winter, creating a hushed landscape with radically fewer visitors than summer. (Snow can also cause some roads in the park to close between November and early summer.) In spring the park creeps back to life, and the magnificent waterfalls roar with snow melt.

Top things to do in Yosemite Valley

Yosemite Village Post Office

Completed in 1925, the village’s historic post office was designed by architect Gilbert Stanley Underwood, famed for his work in the rustic — or parkitecture — style. The post office’s wood and stone facade is home to 760 ornate brass post boxes where mostly park employees receive their mail. Stop in here and appreciate the craftsmanship before sending a letter to a pal that will bear the Yosemite postmark.

Yosemite Cemetery

This graveyard dotted with granite and wooden markers is a kind of who's-who of Yosemite’s past. Here lie the bones of James Mason Hutchings, who led the first tourist party into the park in 1855, and Galen Clark, who arrived as a visitor the same year and decided to remain in the nearby mountains. Laborers, hotel operators, and homesteaders rest here, too. Wander among the graves and giant sequoia trees and ponder the lives and deaths this park has seen.

Yosemite Museum

This small museum, opened in 1926, is one of the first museums established in the park system. It houses exhibits exploring the geology, natural history, and indigenous cultures of Yosemite. The museum also has a gallery with rotating displays of artworks inspired by the park.
