House vacation rentals in Wonder Valley, Twentynine Palms

We stayed here for a family wedding in Joshua tree. The house is well represented in the photos. Very clean. Easy check in and out. Lots of kitchen supplies, the cabinets are all labeled with the contents, which made it very easy. Backyard is big and was great to keep my kids busy. Over all easy and felt very comfortable. Hosts were very responsive and we didn't have any issues.

We had three wonderful nights here. The accommodation is secluded and perfect for relaxing. The spacious property with a barbecue and fire pit is ideal for winding down in the evenings after a long day. The national park is just a few minutes away, and the host has put together a guide with many local highlights. A special highlight are the hammocks, which offer a breathtaking view of the Milky Way. We’d love to come back. Thank you for your hospitality!

Awesome stay. One of the best I’ve had on Airbnb. Stunning setting and the amenities were great. The inside of the house was nicer than it looked in the photos, very tastefully decorated.

The home and the property are even more beautiful than the pictures show. The property is at the end of a dirt road that can seem a bit difficult to find but with the host instructions it leads you right to the property without issues. Every room of the house was clean and set up perfectly with many places to relax and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. We made use of the pool, jacuzzi, game room, backyard dining table, and fire pit which were all amazing amenities. The host was also very proactive and responsive making us feel secure even though we had no issues. Highly recommend!

Love love love this home. It was our second time here and it was just as perfect. The home is spacious and comfortable. We felt it was very private without being secluded away from people. Very close to the downtown area and the national park entrance. Would highly recommend to anyone else considering the area!

This house is a desert dream! The pool/spa is divine with the most epic view and peaceful, quite surroundings and cute local birds to watch. The house is beautifully appointed with an eclectic vibe that makes it feel like you're staying at a hip friend's cozy abode. I adored this spot and will be back!

This place was exactly what we were looking for—peaceful and charming. We loved listening to old records and playing horseshoes. It was a great spot to unwind. We brought our dog and really appreciated the enclosed outdoor space where he could safely run around. Overall, a great stay and we’re hoping to visit again in the future!

This home felt so luxurious! My family and I wanted to get away for a birthday celebration and this was exactly what we needed!! Home was very spacious and clean. The pictures were exactly what you would expect. I would highly recommend booking this home!!

Mark is a great communicator and did a nice job hosting our place. The place is very quiet and safe and in a good location to get into 29 palms downtown area very easily. We dealt with some very hot weather and it can be challenging to get the bedrooms cool enough when the temps are near 100 during the day, but it gets plenty cool at night so it's not an issue at all when sleeping. Place was equipped with the essential pots, pans, utensils, etc.

The house was clean, modern, and beautifully designed with incredible desert views. Its remote location made it feel like a private retreat!! Adam and Diana were thoughtful, responsive, and made everything easy. Highly recommended!

Beautiful place, even better in person! We loved all the thoughtful touches and amenities throughout: the shaded dining area, the pizza oven & grill, bocce ball court, multiple lounge areas, the cowboy pool, and even the record player inside. Everything felt intentionally curated to create a relaxing and fun experience. Having the yard fully fenced was a great bonus too as it gave our pup the freedom to roam safely, which we really appreciated. We did come across a rattlesnake and a (dead) scorpion near the house shortly after check-in. Giulia responded and let us know the property is sprayed monthly. After that initial encounter, we didn’t have any other issues, likely thanks to the movement and presence of us and our dog. It didn’t take away from our overall experience, but definitely something to keep in mind when visiting the desert, especially with pets. Giulia was always responsive and friendly. We would absolutely recommend this stay!

We loved our stay at Alison’s property. Easy access to shops, JTNP, and restaurants. Alison’s hot spring recommendation was great - we did a sunset soak that set the entire trip vibe. Alison is a fantastic host who is proactive, highly responsive, and knowledgeable of the area. Thank you for being such a wonderful host!!

The place was great for exploring the Joshua Tree National Park! It was clean, spacious, and very close to the park. We appreciated how well equipped the kitchen was. We also enjoyed the big TV and puzzles while avoiding the sun in the afternoon. Graham and Courtney were very responsive.

Highly recommend checking out this Airbnb when in town. Has everything you could possibly need including a full stocked kitchen, nice backyard, and good proximity to Joshua tree.

We loved this wonderful retreat. We can't wait to go back. It's a perfect location to access JTNP, but also far enough away from other tourists. The star gazing was a highlight and we preferred it over the night we sky watched in the park. The bed is comfy and the decor was lovely. Twentynine Palms is cute and has all you need. We loved GRND SQRL and the White Vinyl record store. If you love used books, Raven's is great too. There's also a Grocery Outlet and Stater Bros. if you need to stock up on food. Before you go, research "Jackrabbit Homesteads" and Wonder Valley so you know what all the little cabins are. It's fascinating! Our only difficulty, as other have mentioned was the gate lock. If you arrive in the heat of the day or at night, it will be a challenge - especially if you are, ah hem, past a certain age. I think the sand blows into these kind of locks and makes it hard to turn and the numbers wear down. Maybe a button style would work better than the spin type.

John was a great host and we loved the location. It truly is off the grid. We didn’t have trouble finding it because we combined the provided instructions with the GPS. Basically, once you get to Amboy, let the written and provided instructions take over. There’s like three stater brothers on the way so don’t choose the first one like we did. The foood could have stayed colder and the second stater brothers was nicer too. SOLID FIRE PIT!!! Even though the wind was crazy that fire pit allows the wood to light up very easy. Props on that one because if the owners didn’t buy that special fire pit that uses the wind to light the fire, it would be tough to get a fire going and we got an insane one going and had the best s’mores. The jacuzzi was a great touch and there’s plenty of games. Oh, the vinyl collection is to die for. They got allllllllll the hits, playing STYX, Elton John, Santana, Chicago, and others on vinyl, that was a real treat. We will book again for the Milky Way! 🪐🛸🚀?

We had a great time at the Art of the Desert. We’ve been coming to Joshua for many years and have experienced many accommodations and the amenities at the Art of the Desert truly make a difference. The outdoor area is amazing for relaxing with plenty of shade and spots to unwind. While the setting is beautiful, I would note for others who mights be seeking a secluded and quiet retreat that this may not be the best option as the traffic noise from the nearby highway is noticeable, especially in the evenings. Also it’s important to keep in mind that this is a trailer - while it’s quite spacious for a trailer it is small compared to a typical house. The price is on the higher side and for that reason I would have appreciated a few upgrades in the kitchenware. The plates, bowls and glasses are all plastic and quite worn. It would have been nice to enjoy a proper glass of wine on the terrace.
