Wow this Airbnb is a true gem, immaculately clean, the attention to detail goes way, above and beyond any air bnb experience I've had to date. Fresh bread and fresh scones, a selection of jams, butter, teas coffees.. All the amenities you could ask for. An idyllic setting.. Peaceful and private the bed was super super comfortable, waterfall shower was amazing after a long day on the motorbike. I can and will thoroughly recommend this to all of my friends especially those who ride. A perfect spot so close to exmoor. Lynda was such a brilliant host, communication was excellent she really went above and beyond to make the stay as brilliant as it could be.

Neither James nor the house can take responsibility for the weather, but what we had was unendingly spectacular. 7 straight days of sunshine while, apparently, it rained in Spain. This is VERY unusual for the area, but really made the moore and farmland surrounding the cottage shine. Even if it had rained and been blustery, the cottage is fitted with an excellent heating system and a wood fire in the living room. Hotwater for the kitchen and bathrooms is prompt and plentiful. Recently renovated with good (rather than cheap) furniture choices made, the house is in great shape. The kitchen was well stocked and while the oven was a bit mysterious to operate, everything worked well. Pastoral by day, truly dark sky by night, and a strong selection of both gastro-pubs and wonderful footpaths on which to reach them right out the door from the property.

Great place for walking, and not too far a walk from the nearest shops. The outdoor patio is a little suntrap which we loved! Perfect for a couple.

I stayed at The Old Chapel with 3 friends so we could do a couple of days walking on Exmoor. The location was brilliant and the cottage itself has been beautifully restored. It is warm, cosy and modern with great facilities. I really can't recommend it enough. Marsdens Devon Cottages were very pleasant to deal with and extremely friendly. I would definitely book another cottage with them.
