This house is absolutely stunning! It’s spotless, beautifully designed, and located in a fantastic spot. The view is breathtaking, with a beautiful lake and a lovely interior. There’s plenty of space for big families, and the kitchen is equipped with all the essentials. The house is also incredibly clean, with no unpleasant odors. Absolutely wonderful place to stay! Everything was very clean and the cottage was super comfortable. The outdoor space and the hot tub was our favourite part - so peaceful and relaxing. Andy was a great host as well - very informative and ensuring we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!

This was my second time staying here in five years. Everything was great and as advertised. For a remote cabin, it was everything we were expecting. Some areas needed dusting, but I'm 6'7", so I could easily see areas that probably go overlooked. There was a cool cave within walking distance of the house that was advertised in their welcome binder. It took a little bit to find, adding a map or GPS coordinates would have made the hunt easier. But it was a cool experience once we found the cave entrance.

If you’re looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle and to just relax, this is the perfect place. My girlfriend and I, and our dog Bear, loved this place. Melanie allowing dogs is great and more than appreciated by us. The property is gorgeous and the neigh-bors weren’t too bothersome ;). The horses right out the back door were gentle, docile and very friendly. They loved getting treats for us. They were also pretty comfortable around our dog Bear as well. Easily the best part about this place was the hot tub outside. At night it’s so dark you can see the stars in their full light, there’s no city light drowning them out. We can’t thank Melanie and Denny enough for opening their place up to us. Perfect place to get away from it all for a long relaxing weekend.

This was my second visit and it won’t be the last! I appreciate the beautiful, quiet setting, cozy space, and amenities and that I can bring my dog with me. I enjoyed afternoon campfires and the hot tub on dry days and proximity to town and Sundara Spa. I’ll echo what other guests have mentioned about low water pressure in the shower, but that’s not enough to affect my rating or desire to return. Whisky Wood is one of my happy places.

Beautiful peaceful and remote. Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. Angela went above and beyond and would definitely book again in the warmer weather to enjoy the lake

Andy's mountain cabin is always a destination for us. In the times between our stays, it's a constant topic of conversation that's always related to fond memories. 10 out of 10 will continue to stay here. It was a very nice cabin for a winter romantic getaway. Or, frankly, anytime of year. The cabin is cozy, well insulated, and stocked with all your basic needs. We planned a last minute getaway to Linda & Robert’s place and it was wonderful. My husband and I were looking for a simple, secluded place with space to explore and be immersed in nature with our dog. This “rustic retreat” was just what we had hoped for and more. It is exactly how it is described, no surprises. Before booking, we read the listing description that was provided, viewed all of the photos and loved reading all of the glowing reviews. We were sold! We loved the long drive into the property and the wildlife seen along the way. The trails on the property are such a treat and so much fun to explore. The windows in the cabin were just as described….AWESOME!Puzzles and campfires were our source of relaxation, after dark. Linda and Robert are great hosts and communication was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent at the rustic retreat and would highly recommend it to others. :)

This place was great! Perfect for our family. Even in the winter the kids played on the beach and with the horseshoes and ran all over. It was a spot we for sure want to enjoy in the summer too! Very clean. Everything was as it was explained. Host was very responsive. We can’t wait to come back!

Spent my birthday weekend at the Fat Porcupine with my dog — even took a social media break to soak in the experience! The creek was beautiful, and my dog had a lot of fun exploring. I did some fishing, spent time on the deck watching birds and taking photos, and saw a few deer and turkeys. It was peaceful and just what I was looking for.

We have visited this spot 3 times now and every time we go we love it more! I love coming here. Brings back awesome memorie with my family.

Steve and Jill's place is an absolute gem. What they offer is an authentic Northwoods experience. The lodge is a perfectly restored 1900s-era building with a magnificent bar overlooking Moccasin Lake. We stayed in the cabin, which was very private, comfy, and a perfect extension of the lodge. As for the lake, Moccasin Lake checks all the boxes. It is completely private, offers outstanding fishing, and, most importantly, provides complete serenity. Whether you are fishing, kayaking, or just sitting on the pier, the soundtrack will be provided by the call of the loons. On our final evening, while enjoying a campfire, the loons were joined by a fox calling for her kits, with great horned owls adding to the chorus. As hosts, Steve and Jill are among the best I've encountered at any Airbnb or VRBO. In a very short time, they will make you forget that you are guests and give you the sensation that you have been morphed into close friends or family who have been coming to the lake for years.

This is a lovely property that exceeded our expectations. It’s the kind of place you need to get away from it all and reconnect with nature. I’ve already recommended the cabin for getaways to my friends even though I want it to be my secret getaway. We will be back and for a longer stay!

Had a weekend retreat with my daughter, it was a great time for us to reconnect with no screens/TV. A time for lots of games and great conversation. We did a couple trail rides, which was a super fun addition to our journey. And my daughter really enjoyed some pool time as well.

This cabin is definitely cozy and has everything you need for a comfortable stay! The kitchen is well stocked and the bathroom has all amenities you need (shampoo/conditioner/hair dryer). There was fresh coffee beans and grinder to make the best cup of joe every morning! The bed was very comfortable as well. At the time of our visit there was construction (not active) at the property entrance which made for a messy driveway. We were made aware and knew to navigate through this upon arrival. This would not deter me from utilizing this property in the future. We truly enjoyed our time!

This cabin is an absolute gem! We really enjoyed our time here. The cabin felt very private. The surrounding nature is beautiful and peaceful. We loved the walking trails throughout the property and spotting wildlife – we saw many deer, squirrels, turkeys, and heard lots of birds, including owls at night. The sauna and fireplace made the experience extra cozy. We enjoyed learning about the farm’s history and ongoing restoration work. Tighe was very communicative and kind. The town of New London is about a 15 minute drive away for groceries/food. We also enjoyed checking out Mosquito Hill Nature Center nearby. Overall, highly recommend for anyone needing a simple getaway in nature!

Great place for our ice fishing trip. Was super cold weather -30 and had some plumbing issues. Very quick to respond and solve the issue. Definitely would stay again.
