Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Whanganui River

This house was perfect for our family group of 9 adults. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking large meals, and it was great having two full bathrooms. The fire and some heaters kept us warm at night.

“A Perfect Stay with Stunning Views!” I had an amazing stay at this AirBnB! The location was perfect—peaceful, yet close to everything I needed. One of the highlights was the beautiful walk nearby, which offered breathtaking views that made every morning feel magical. Whether enjoying a cup of coffee outside or taking in the scenery during a stroll, the surroundings were absolutely stunning. The home itself was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped, making my stay truly enjoyable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and scenic getaway!

Lovely large old villa. Well insulated with great heating and cooling ammenities. Large rooms with very comfortable beds, even the bunks have quality mattresses. Very clean throughout. We only stayed a short time but would love to come again and be able to enjoy the outdoor space and lounging, it’s very large, private with large gardens and trees.

Loved the homeliness of this place, was comfortable and cosy. Particularly loved the environment, quiet and peaceful and close to the lake and river walks.

The home was clean, comfortable and perfect for our family of 3’s needs. We enjoyed our stay and definitely would reconsider if we were to visit again. Property managers were responsive, helpful and gracious. One minor issue - we felt that ‘there were too many rules’ - this didn’t take away from our overall strongly positive impression, however. Walkable distance to the town and good options for meals - The Cypress Tree and Osteria Ohakune were excellent.

An absolute gem of a location. Waking up hearing the sounds the ocean and the view was to die for! Most of all is it super family friendly, an array of board games, toys, dvds and fenced section for the kids. A home away from home, with touches such as pancake mix, chips and dip waiting in a wee basket when we arrived. Every room had a phone charger and plenty of extra blankets as well as, hot water bottles. 100% would recommend this place to others and we will come back again!

The lodge was everything we needed for a boys weekend away. Will be planning to go back in the future

Came as a large family looking for somewhere to base ourselves for the Tongariro crossing. Plenty of space for us to kick back & relax. Host was exceptional, the place is well looked after and suitably equipped for both hot & cold weather. Kitchen had all we needed and more. BBQ was great, nice outdoor space to enjoy food and drinks.

What a stunning little escape! Well worth the distance from town. Super comfy little cottage and hosts were so lovely. And Heathers Date scones were fantastic!! (I need that recipe!!) hosts were so responsive and accommodating with extra blankets etc. was such a lovely night away!

Very friendly, kind hosts. Thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor hot pool and peaceful surroundings. Enjoyed our stay immensely!

We had a wonderful stay at Serena's place. We spent a lot of time swimming at the lake, which was a short walk down the road. Would love to come back and stay again.
