Useless Towers: Private room and bathroom,quiet.

A warm home with a wood-burning fire, heat pumps. Private property off some 2000 sq meters with gardens and lawn areas back and front in a quiet street. Good off-street parking. Five minutes drive from town or a fifteen-minute walk. Ideal for both winter and summer. Useless Towers got the name from good friends who stayed and the name has stuck. 'The Minsion'. A cosy studio retreat

THE MINSION, a cosy studio located in our garden , in beautiful Acacia Bay. Awake to the sound of Tui's and bird song. It is a short walk to Lake, cafe/ restaurant, local store and walking tracks . Our studio is often used and loved by family and friends so has a number of board games, DVDs and family memories. We like our property to be smoke/vape free please. We spent the Easter weekend at Brett and Penny’s beautiful home. The neighbourhood is beautiful and peaceful and downhill you can find a kayak hire place for a paddle in the lake. Communication with Brett and Penny was on point, with helpful information and instructions. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and with a great hot water pressure. We also used the hot pool after long days of cycling. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to have a restful holiday in Taupō.

This has been my favourite place to stay so far In New Zealand . Denise and Ian made the stay very comfortable and almost like a Home away from home . A lovely breakfast is served every morning with products from the garden and homemade sourdough bread. The bedroom was beautiful and spacious . There is a gorgeous view of the lake from the bedroom especially in the morning ! An easy 50 minute drive to the alpine crossing ! Would definitely recommend staying here !

Nanettes place is a home away from home. The room is big and cozy (tv, lots of room to put away clothes), everything is made available to have a comfortable stay. I was spoiled with the homemade yogurt and the glutenfree muesli every morning!! Nanette is one of the kindest and thoughtful person I've met along my trip. She went above and beyond to make my stay easy and enjoyable. I can't recommend her enough. I've really enjoyed staying with her and her lovely two daughters.

I really enjoyed my stay at Nanette’s place. Her family made everybody feel at home. It was also nice to get to know the other guests. They served an incredible breakfast every day. The communication was perfect and she was available for any questions. Nanette and her daughters went above and beyond what is expected of a host and provided whatever help was needed by each guest. Just a great experience.

This place is well worn, but comfy and the host extremely warm and welcoming. Really appreciated the cleanliness of the shared showers and toilets, and the mound of fluffy white towels that were provided. Great atmosphere, with guests from 4 countries sitting around exchanging experiences long into the evening. 100% would stay here again.
