Southouse is a lovely old croft in beautiful surroundings. The property is very quaint. A little cold for me but fine for everyone else in the party (fire could not be used which would have been cosy). Loft area was toasty but you’re not in with the everyone up there. Best to take your own hairdryer if you need one. Seating for 4 in sitting room. But plenty other chairs if there are more of you. TV was intermittent but not an issue for us. Plenty games and books provided. Location is stunning.

Our first trip to Shetland and well worth the effort (from Wiltshire) This lovely cottage in a quiet spot was a great place to stay. Plenty of room, all the facilities worked as expected and the view from the lovely conservatory was great. Scalloway is situated about 1/2 way up from the Southern tip of Shetland, so it's a perfect place to base a trip. The cottage is a 5 minute walk from the harbour side and there are two general stores in the centre of town. So if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful place to relax after a hard day touring the islands, We can highly recommend it.

Nigel and Helena made us feel very welcome, and also sent good information and directions to the cottage, the cottage was clean warm and welcoming with a welcoming pack left for us. The shower and bathroom clean and lots of toiletries for use, Both bedrooms large and lots of storage space with electric blankets on the beds great for a winter holiday. The lounge comprises of 2 large sofas and comfortable. Kitchen very well equipped pots, pans, microwave, toaster, airfyer and everything you would expect to have. The garden beautifully kept with easy access lovely to sit and watch the resident pheasants. The whole home tastefully decorated in keeping with its age. Parking outside the home with motion sensor lights at night time. Walls has a lovely little harbour within minutes of the home if your into fishing or Kayaking it also has a shop. Would I book Rocklea again? Absolutely without a doubt. Thank you to Nigel and Helena for looking after us so well, a special thank you from Liam.

The cottage was perfect for us five, clean, practical and cosy. We really enjoyed being on the croft, and at the time of lambing ! Thank you Bruce, Jean and John for your warm welcome. We had a wonderful stay and would love to come back.
