Beach house vacation rentals in West Bay

Our group of eight friends had the most wonderful trip here. The two houses were gorgeous, really stylish and cosy with plenty of room to relax and have dinner together. We enjoyed popping back and forth between them! Super close to the beach and beautiful area. The communication was great and we had everything we needed. We’d love to come back!

Lovely house with the added bonus of a parking space. The house was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. It was very well stocked with everything you could want and it's a very easy short walk to the beach. I absolutely would recommend this.

We had a lovely time at Peter and Frances's place. The house is a decent size, and well-equipped, but it's certainly its prime location (overlooking the sea, and just a few steps away from the South West Coast Path) that makes it so special. Will gladly be back for some more family hiking if in Dorset!

We had a fabulous few days here over the New Year, and would definitely love to return! The perfect spot for some fresh sea air and lovely walks, and a super comfy and cosy house, we loved it, thank you!!

Great communication, caravan was clean with incredible views

We had a lovely stay at the old postoffice! Everything was as described and the location was perfect. Everything in Weymouth was easily walkable. Parking was tricky, but not impossible (also as described :)). We would happily stay here again!

The Dragon’s Nest is a great house in a central location in Brixham. Plenty of local amenities and recommendations from the host. The house is set over several floors so was ideal for us as a 3 generation family staying. Plenty of cutlery and crockery for children and a high chair available. Well stocked kitchen including salt/pepper/oil. Lynn was really quick to reply to any message I sent her, and kindly arranged early check in and late check out for us. She also kindly allowed us a shorter stay than they would otherwise have agreed to over the Easter holiday period. We had a fantastic stay. Thank you.

We’ve just returned from a fabulous week at Raj Medvedu. We are a family of seven with five kids and the house provided an ideal home-from-home that is literally a short stroll down the road to Charmouth Beach. The house is very characterful with lots of nostalgic quirks that gave us a lovely base to which to return after the beach each day. We were exceptionally lucky with the weather, with wall-to-wall blue skies all week, and all of us agreed how idyllic it was to be able to call it our home after an afternoon messing about on the beach. Eric was very helpful, especially with regard to offering an early check-in on arrival day that meant we weren’t kicking our heels around all day. We had a problem with the fridge - and the fridge/freezer provision could be increased to be completely honest - but we coped and it didn’t detract from our week. We would not hesitate to return to this lovely house.

Clean, cosy and comfortable and still feels new. Good shower and comfy beds (although my 5’6 son said the single bed was a bit short and narrow for him - the only issue as everything else was perfect). The holiday park is quiet and well maintained, we enjoyed the heated pool and dog walking area around the fishing lake. The pygmy goats are so cute!

Helen’s places was one of the most comfortable and well equipped places I have stayed in. A short distance from the costal path and within walking distance of Brixham harbour. I would highly recommend it.

We had a really lovely time in this beautiful home. The pools (swimming and table!) were a real hit with all of us. The little ones loved running in the garden and playing football as well as swimming. We had a very relaxing time celebrating a big event.

We had such a wonderful stay. The house was larger and more beautiful than I expected - much better than the lovely pictures. Really thoughtful amenities and touches. The staff at the hotel could not have been more welcoming or accommodating and similarly with all communication via Airbnb. The food at the Cary Arms Hotel was excellent and a stones throw from the house. Beautiful beach, breathtaking views, lovely home and a short walk from local restaurants and shops. We wished we had booked for longer. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

Accomodation very well described and presented, clean, description accurate, clear instructions regarding access, heating cooking ect. Everything worked, host answered questions promptly. Site facilities (mainly the outdoor pool), were found to not be open due to the season. We did feel a bit let down as on arrival 5th April 2025, we were told it would open on Monday 7th April (our last day, with us having to vacate by 10am). The pool had to be booked on the day at 9am at reception, upon arriving at reception on 7th at 9am we were told the pool was not open until 2pm... So the kids missed out....and due to this I feel the need to advise those visiting golden sands to check and open facilities with the site carefully before making any final decisions. Lovely accommodation sadly I won't re visit the site. Golden sands is also a cashless site... having drawn cash for the whole holiday it was a massive inconvenience to then have to locate a bank and restock the account at short notice.

We, 5 adults and 4 teenagers, spent a very enjoyable Easter here. The directions in the comprehensive welcome message were good and the house was clean and ready for us. The nice warm indoor pool, the hot tub and the pool table were great and were heavily used. Kitchen is well equipped – we fed well! The weather was unfortunately not quite ready for the outdoor gas BBQ area. The beach is within easy reach, as is the Smugglers where we spent an evening eating and drinking. The host responded quickly to a question, which was great. All together great. Bottom line – we would happily go there again.

Amazing as always! So much to do with our daughter and we felt right at home as we did last year. Abi as always is an amazing host and extremely responsive. The lodge was warm and felt just like home. The beach, activities and restaurants were great. Thanks you Abi 😄

Lovely stay in stunning Ladram Bay. Beautiful walks in the area and close to a picture perfect Devon village with a pub and tea rooms.

Fantastic location and a beautiful house. Carole’s instructions were excellent and apart from the parking being quite a squeeze, the rest of the property was wonderful. We enjoyed lovely walks around the house, fish and chips on the beach and a lovely drink in The Cove pub. We took a boat from Portland Marina to Weymouth on one of our trips and this was well worth it. So much to do nearby and the house itself was a lovely home from home. We highly recommend.

Caroline was an excellent host; she was always very communicative and we appreciated a personal visit from her when we arrived. She had also given us some homemade goodies - the granola was particularly good! We were staying during a cold snap so we discovered that the cottage was indeed very warm, with good central heating and a cosy woodburner. The kitchen was thoughtfully equipped with an eye to sustainability and other items in the cottage, such as bed linens, were high quality. It was unfortunate that the private beach was inaccessible as this had initially drawn us to Rousdon. The coastal path, challenging in places due to mud and rain, offered an opportunity for an invigorating and interesting walk to Lyme. Make sure you book a taxi in advance for the return to Rousdon as buses are not always available. River Cottage was also a short drive away in a lovely location and of course provided great lunches.

Beautiful home, photos really do not do the place justice!! Comfortable furnishings and all amenities you could need. Walking distance to shops, take aways, pubs, bakery and beach, what more could you ask for?! We really enjoyed our 2 night stay and chance to explore Portland. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again in the future.

The house is lovely. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped with everything you could want. Plenty of towels supplied. Very quiet area. Would be even better in the summer. Only downside is not having dedicated parking but we found a spot just down the road.

Lovely, spacious, and modern property. Plenty of choice for outside seating too. exceeded expectations, more than matched the photos provided. Only advice I will give, which is not anything negative about the Property is be mindful if you have guests who aren't particularly mobile as there are steps up to the property and the driveway is up a fairly steep hill. We did also struggle to get a taxi, as didn't really seem to be all that often or available in this location from what we found and Uber just said it would be a very long wait. The Property itself was fantastic though, plenty of space for all of us. Myself, My Husband, My Sister, her Partner and children plus My Dad came for the weekend & there were three spacious double rooms, two with en suites and then the two singles in another room for My Niece and Nephew, so absolutely perfect for what we needed. Overall, very happy with this property & our Host was very friendly and super quick to reply to any questions. Would stay again!

Great host communication throughout, house as described, super clean, bright and fresh, well equipped and nice touches. We were visiting family in Exmouth but turned out to be a great location to explore the local area. Really enjoyed our stay, highly recommended 😎

Extremely warm welcome from the lovely hosts to their beautiful and immaculately kept home with loving attention to every detail. Though we went over New Year with miserable/stormy weather the Boathouse was cosy and the sheltered wood burning hot tub was a must, perfect in all weathers. Drinking coffee early morning by the river’s edge was serene. Would highly recommend for a getaway.
