We traveled as a group of 6 to Villa Acres Green for a one-night getaway. The place was truly beyond our expectations and the pictures don’t do justice to the place! The property is spacious and gives you a sense of seclusion from the rest of the world. The vast garden is scattered with lots of trees, a pond and a well maintained lawn with benches and hammocks for a nice evening chill. The pool is much bigger than you’d expect and was clean. The tiles in the pool are starting to break so a little caution would be advised. We opted to get our food prepared at the property. The BBQ dinner was excellent, but the Sri Lankan breakfast (kiri bath) was only average. It’s possible that the food maybe a hit of miss in our experience. The rooms were nice; spacious and clean! The A/C cooled well which was more than appreciated since the days were scorching! All in all, we had a fantastic experience at the property and would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Hikkaduwa.

Excellent Staff! Very well maintained premises, neat and clean but the highlight has to be the staff. The host was very prompt and helpful, prior to and throughout the stay. A little out of the way and secluded.Not much to do around the property, but that's why we loved it. Better with your own vehicle for transport. Pls do get the staff to prepare your meals, the best food we had on our trip to SL. Would definitely stay at pineapple Villa on my next trip to SL. Thank you Tushari, Hema and Randini.

Chanuka was a warm and welcoming host. He lives right next door and is super helpful and responsive to any needs you may have. Mango house is well located with lots of shops nearby. Tuk tuks and taxi both are easy to get from this location. The house comes fully equipped and I really enjoyed having a fully functioning kitchen at my disposal. We were a family of three and the house felt comfortable and spacious. I highly recommend Mango house for travellers who want a break from the hotel/hostel route and want to stay at a place that feels like a private home.

Der Aufenthalt war rundum super – die Unterkunft war sauber, gemütlich und genau wie beschrieben. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich den Gastgeber: unglaublich freundlich, hilfsbereit und immer erreichbar. Man hat sich sofort willkommen gefühlt. Мы провели здесь месяц – это почти идеальное место! Интернет идеальный для работы, в т.ч. с видеозвонками. Удобная кровать с новым матрасом. Ванная комната – восторг! Туалет и душ отделены друг от друга, а горячая вода – это действительно горячая вода в безлимитном количестве и с великолепным напором. На кухне есть все, кроме турки для приготовления кофе, но это мелочь. С собаками мы подружились и часто играли. Они действительно лают, но только когда кто-то приходит, что в нашем случае происходило очень редко. Хозяева – прекрасные люди, общаться по всем вопросам было легко и приятно. Между нашими и соседними апартаментами нет шумоизоляции за счет тонкой двери в смежной стене. Мы сняли и эти апартаменты тоже и использовали их как отдельный рабочий кабинет. Когда на виллу кто-то приезжает, слышно абсолютно все, что происходит на улице в любое время суток. В любом случае моя оценка 10 из 10, потому что все перечисленные плюсы с лихвой компенсируют несущественные недостатки. Спасибо!

Unterkunft wie beschrieben. Wer eine Auszeit möchte, Privatsphäre und direkten Zugang zum Strand ist genau richtig! Sehr schöner Garten, Trinkwasser wird nachgefüllt und ist immer verfügbar. Villa ist nicht dort, wo es Google Maps anzeigt - muss dringend angepasst werden damit das Haus direkt gefunden werden kann.

The villa was impeccably clean, thoughtfully organized, and completely free of clutter. Situated in a peaceful neighborhood, the villa offers a serene retreat while being conveniently located just a 20-minute drive from major restaurants and tourist attractions. Irosh, the host, and his family were incredibly warm and welcoming. They greeted us with a delightful welcome drink, making us feel at home right away. Irosh was an excellent guide, offering insightful recommendations on places to visit and assisting us with transportation arrangements. Overall, the combination of the villa’s charm, its ideal location, and the hospitality of the host made our stay unforgettable. We highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a perfect getaway.

We have just got home after our trip to the Tropical Beach House in Hikkaduwa. What a totally lovely time away. Great communication with Gavin prior to the visit and out in touch with Darmith (house keeper) and taxi transport for arrival. We arrived at 2am to be met by Darmith and Saji (security) and felt at home straight away. Darmith had collected fridge essentials before we arrived so we were set up for the following morning. The house and gardens are lovely, the sound of the ocean 24/7 is just perfect and the house was spotlessly clean with good facilities. Sangrita helped to provide us with Sri Lankan breakfast foods, loved the Dahl curry and the hoppers but also gave us an awesome Brit breakfast of eggs and bacon! Chandra was on hand at night to cook a bbq which was tasty and varied. We used Tuk tuks to get out and about during our stay which were easy to find. Any issues we had were resolved quickly. Lots of local bars and eateries along the beach or further into Hikkaduwa.

Great Stay for a Quiet Getaway! I had a pleasant stay at this Airbnb. The place was nice, clean, and well-maintained, offering a quiet and calm atmosphere—perfect for relaxation. While the location is a bit far from the beach and more on the inland side, it’s ideal for backpackers or those looking for a peaceful retreat. A nice bonus was the included breakfast, which was much appreciated. The host was friendly, supportive, and made sure everything was comfortable. Overall, it was a good experience, and I’d recommend it to travelers who don’t mind being a little further from the shore.

I spend 3 days at Thivakar place. This new one bedroom apartment is Superb, Cosy and Welcoming ! Extremely clean, very well organised and good quality furniture. Location is great, short walk to beach and to shops . Personally, the most outstanding thing is that from the bedroom you get a stunning seaview...truly relaxing and beautiful.The bed very comfortable. It was nice to find a complementary 5 litres water bootle. Check in easy. Security staff very kind and helpful. Also, I appreciated that Jacinta the housekeeper a very lovely lady came to see if I needed something and everything was ok. Likewise for Thikvar the owner he kept in touch by phone and made sure everything was ok and comfortable. I highly recommend this apartment.

We had an amazing stay at Ivy Beach Villa with our group of 12 people. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and well taken care of. The food at the villa's restaurant was absolutely delicious—every meal was a highlight of our stay. The staff was incredibly friendly and always willing to help with anything we needed. They assisted us with transfers, organised trips, and gave great recommendations on what to do in the city and whom to trust. One of the things we appreciated the most was how safe we felt. We often left doors open, even at night, and never had any issues. Our belongings were completely secure throughout the stay. Overall, we are extremely happy with our experience. The staff played a huge role in making our vacation truly enjoyable, and we are very grateful for their hospitality. Highly recommended!

Lashika was super responsive throughout our trip. The place was accessible and near many restaurants. It was spacious with all creature comforts for a home cook if need be. Although we ended up ordering from ubereats for our meal, the kitchen was fully equipped. The villa gave us privacy and enough common area to unwind. There were some roaches in the room and that would be common for any tropical country

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful and thoughtfully maintained home. As three adults, we found it incredibly spacious, comfortable, and fully equipped—even for those who enjoy cooking. The attention to detail, from the big essentials to the smallest touches, really made a difference. The host was kind, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. Staying by the lake was a unique and peaceful experience we won’t forget. Highly recommended!

We stayed at Silunas AirBnb for one month and loved every day of it. It’s located in a beautiful, fairly quiet area yet everything you need is close by – many restaurants and a supermarket are in walking distance and getting to Colombo city center by car or trisho takes less than half an hour. We really loved the big terrace surrounded by palm trees, banana plants, cute chipmunks and fireflies at night. Towards the end of our stay we did however have a problem with a lot of ants inside of the apartment that seemed to be emerging out of nowhere despite not leaving any food out in the open. Overall though we really enjoyed our time in Silunas place and felt very much at home :)

Der Aufenthalt war zwar nur 2 Tage kurz, hatte aber trotzdem alles zu bieten was man sich wünschen kann. Man hat sofort Hilfe bekommen, wenn man sie brauchte und die Gastfreundschaft war grandios. Leider hatten wir zu viel zu unternehmen um uns ausreichend in dem wirklich schönen Garten aufhalten zu können. Immer wieder gerne und sehr weiter zu empfehlen

Diese Unterkunft war unser absolutes Highlight in jeglicher Hinsicht. Nicht nur, dass sie unsere hohen Erwartungen bei weitem Übertroffen hat, auch der Gastgeber Duminda, genannt Dudu ist ein ganz besonderer Mensch. Die Chemie hat von Anfang an gestimmt. Dudu ist ein äußert empathischer zuvorkommender Mensch, war allzeit zur Stelle und konnte uns viele wertvolle Tipps geben. Die vielen Tipps und Informationen zu Land und Leuten sowie zur Historie Sri Lankas waren äußert profund und wertvoll. Er fuhr uns täglich mit seinem Tuk Tuk wohin wir wollten und holte uns auch wieder ab. Auch bei einer Erkrankung zeigte er sich absolut fürsorglich empfohl uns die besten Ärzte und Apotheken und fuhr uns sogar zu einer ayurvedischen Professorin um Medikamte gegen Dengue-Fieber zu besorgen. Das Ambiente der Cabanas ist sehr geschmackvoll umgeben von einem wundervollen Garten der wie ein Biotop wirkt. Wir konnten allerlei Tiere und Pflanzen beobachten, die wir zu vor noch nie gesehen haben.

Absolutely magical place. If you are a nature lover, this is a dream come true. Me and my husband stayed in Ganguli for 10 nights and we loved every second of it. Gonapinuwala is close enough to the beach and nearest bigger town - Hikkaduwa, but at the same time it is far enough to be in a calm place, away from other tourists. The garden that surrounds the house is natural, so it feels like living in a beautiful jungle, with monkeys jumping on the trees and endemic birds sitting on the branches (Sri Lanka Grey Hornbill visited us!). But you shouldn't worry, it never feels unsafe, we've never seen any dangerous animals or anything like that. Chandana and Krishna are unbelievably helpful and kind, they just made us feel like home. They are always ready to give advice or organize transport. I hope they will read it, so Chandana and Krishna, let me thank you again! You made our trip even more exceptional. You are the best!

Benjamin is a great host, easy to communicate with and very caring. The place is just special as described, dinner was awesome. We enjoyed our stay very much, and would return anytime.

Yasi’s place was very comfortable, so many comfortable places to sit, a lovely balcony with beautiful trees and bird visitors. Everything you need is close by and in walking distance, and it’s very cheap and easy to get around by taxi or tuktuk. Any questions or problems we had were answered quickly and efficiently by Yasi. We had a lovely stay here and it was very affordable and well worth the money, we would have been happier here longer. Thank you so much, we would love to come again 😊🌸✨

The house is amazing, the photos don't do it justice. It is far bigger than it looked in the pictures. The manager Manoji is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. He cooked us a delicious breakfast every morning and he also did us a dinner one night which was the nicest meal we'd eaten in Sri Lanka, and the cost was very reasonable. He was always on hand if we needed anything. There's also a night watchman that stays in the grounds every night. It's about a 20 minute walk to the beach and the main road. The road to the house is quite narrow so be warned if you have a wide car!
