Family-friendly vacation rentals in Wadduwa

My family and I, wanted a place in Colombo for a month. After looking for a long time, we finally found this apartment, which truly exceeded our expectations. The best thing is the property it self which has many facilities such as the gym, pool, supermarket and an ATM. There are many restaurants close by aswell. Overall the experience was great. The only drawback if any I would say is the height of the bed, which is very low to the ground. Other than that fantastic place.

It is impossible to sum up just how welcome we were made to feel from the minute we arrived until departure. The villa was beautiful and the pool exquisite- large to relax and swim and spotlessly clean . The inside exactly as described. But the experience was made special due to the wonderful staff, Gihan and his team, who could not do more to make the stay so special. Beautiful breakfasts showcasing Sri Lankan specialities and home cooked food for dinner if wanted for a reasonable cost. He also drove willingly to nearby Hikkaduwa so able to eat out on as many nights as one wanted. However they also respected guests desire for privacy - a difficult balance to achieve. They went above and beyond anything we might have hoped for. The villa is a little remote but one knows that before booking and the tranquility more than made up for the inability to walk to restaurants. I would highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat.

The Villa is stunning, even more beautiful than the pictures! The outlook from poolside was beautiful, we watched the monkeys playing in the trees while enjoying a lovely breakfast and throughout the day were visited by peacocks, iguanas and many different birdlife. What made this holiday an amazing experience was the excellent services of Chadima. Chadima is highly intuitive of what level of attention you prefer and always highly respectful of privacy and would always check before coming in the kitchen. Chadima prepared breakfast every day, asking for our preferences the night before. We also enjoyed some dinners and a lunch prepared by Chadima which were all excellent. Chadima is super proud of using the highest quality ingredients and would be at the fish markets in the early hours of the morning to get the catch of the day if fish was our choice for dinner. We also enjoyed a great fun cookery lesson with Chadima. Excellent & professional hospitality service - highly recommend.

The Palm Beach Villa was absolutely amazing! Piyal, the house manager, was waiting for us at the airport, and drove us to the Villa, even tho we arrived early in the morning. There was a wonderful breakfast waiting for us upon our arrival. Piyal and Sujami took such great care of us during the day, and Sumith was there all night, which made us feel very safe. We weren't expecting the high level of pampering we received from the 3 of them. It really made our stay truly relaxing. The Villa and grounds are beautiful! The dogs were an added surprise, and were definitely part of the experience :) The pool was heavenly! The beach was right there!!! and was so beautiful and virtually empty! Watching and helping with the morning fishermen was an experience we will never forget! The location is so private, but close enough to many of the island's attractions. Piyal was a gracious host, driver, and AMAZING cook!!! Sujami was so sweet and helpful. Sumith was great! Will def be back!

Fabulous villa for our two families of 4 adults and 4 children (all under 5). The pool was the best we had during our time in Sri Lanka with a guard on duty to clean daily as well as being located in a lush garden where we had water monitors, mongoose and eagles fly above us. Jayantha is a true master in the kitchen. Please order his dinners if you stay as they taste delightful as well as cheaper than out at restaurants. The breakfast was even better with different options each day (egg hoppers, pancakes, omelette plus fresh fruit and toast). If we return we would not hesitate to stay again.

Everything is great, help with all questions, bikes and other questions . I knocked out the internet a couple of times, but the guys fixed it. The pool is clean and in hot weather it solves a lot 😌

Wonderful villa, very quiet and amazing location. Was able to cook for the week and enjoy the space. The whole place is absolutely gorgeous: fantastic blue swimming pool, huge rooms, magnificent bathrooms. We had a great time, the location is absolutely amazing for anyone looking for peace and quiet with stunning views

We traveled as a group of 6 to Villa Acres Green for a one-night getaway. The place was truly beyond our expectations and the pictures don’t do justice to the place! The property is spacious and gives you a sense of seclusion from the rest of the world. The vast garden is scattered with lots of trees, a pond and a well maintained lawn with benches and hammocks for a nice evening chill. The pool is much bigger than you’d expect and was clean. The tiles in the pool are starting to break so a little caution would be advised. We opted to get our food prepared at the property. The BBQ dinner was excellent, but the Sri Lankan breakfast (kiri bath) was only average. It’s possible that the food maybe a hit of miss in our experience. The rooms were nice; spacious and clean! The A/C cooled well which was more than appreciated since the days were scorching! All in all, we had a fantastic experience at the property and would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Hikkaduwa.

I had a fantastic stay at Coloration Villa! Sumudu is a wonderful host—welcoming, helpful, and always available. The villa is modern, clean, and surrounded by nature, offering the perfect balance of privacy and relaxation. I loved the spacious rooms, open-plan kitchen, and the peaceful garden. The location is ideal—close to Hikkaduwa’s beaches and nightlife, yet tucked away in a quiet village. Whether you’re here to surf, explore, or just unwind, this place is perfect. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

We really felt extremely comfortable at Chami's place. The property is actually integrated between the trees and into nature. What was absolutely new to us at first became cozy very quickly. Not least because the staff are really friendly, accommodating and lovely people. The breakfast has been extensive, individually designed and very tasty. So paired with the ambiance so a great start of the day! Our room was simple, but this was completely sufficient for our purposes. Everything necessary is definitely available and the ceiling fan also ensures enough cooling. For those who like, the nature shower is also a great experience - with luck you even get a look at monkeys! Despite a few small holes in the mosquito net, it has totally served its purpose & if you sleep with earplugs, you also have no problem with the ambient noise. Anyone in Hikkaduwa should definitely make a stop here!

Great location. The villa was clean. Managed to park 2 cars. The pool was well maintained. The kitchen was clean. The housekeeper was friendly. But I do recommend leaving soap, shampoo and lotion in the bathroom for the guests if possible.

The beach hut is a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful green location. The hut is basic but has everything you need, just a step away from the beach. The hosts are very helpful, and their restaurant across the street is definitely worth a visit. This place is highly recommended!

Absolutely magical place. If you are a nature lover, this is a dream come true. Me and my husband stayed in Ganguli for 10 nights and we loved every second of it. Gonapinuwala is close enough to the beach and nearest bigger town - Hikkaduwa, but at the same time it is far enough to be in a calm place, away from other tourists. The garden that surrounds the house is natural, so it feels like living in a beautiful jungle, with monkeys jumping on the trees and endemic birds sitting on the branches (Sri Lanka Grey Hornbill visited us!). But you shouldn't worry, it never feels unsafe, we've never seen any dangerous animals or anything like that. Chandana and Krishna are unbelievably helpful and kind, they just made us feel like home. They are always ready to give advice or organize transport. I hope they will read it, so Chandana and Krishna, let me thank you again! You made our trip even more exceptional. You are the best!

I had a truly wonderful experience. The property was absolutely blissful—peaceful, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed to offer comfort and relaxation. From the moment I arrived, everything felt easy and welcoming. Mary was friendly and accommodating, making sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The ambiance of the place created the perfect retreat, whether I was enjoying a quiet morning or unwinding after a day of exploring the city. If you’re looking for a serene and pleasant place to stay in Colombo, I highly recommend this Airbnb. It was one of the highlights of my trip!

Had an amazing stay at this villa. The view from the veranda is incredible, and the whole place is very peaceful. The interiors are so nicely designed with a Sri Lankan aesthetic and a really simple layout conducive to using the space. The houseboy and chef are lovely and made delicious food, comparative to our next stay it was priced a bit higher but still very affordable meals. Sampath was able to meet any demand we had, including organising a birthday cake for my partner during our stay! Would definitely reccomend and stay again.

My family and I stayed in Nicola’s Airbnb last week. The location was very easy to find, and the security is very good. Upon arrival, Mr. Roshan was ready to receive us and helped us with our bags. He is extremely helpful, showed us around the apartment and even gave clear instructions on how to use appliances available if needed. Mr. Roshan is quick to reply to queries and tend to concerns. The airbnb itself was spotless, has all the amenities included in the listing, including essentials, washer with dryer, and a kitchen that’s fully equipped. The rooms are spacious, all the rooms are equipped with AC. There’s a huge pool/gym located on the 6th floor, and a supermarket on the 5th floor. It is so children friendly, my little brother did not want to leave. The location is excellent, there’s multiple supermarkets/ restaurants and shopping malls nearby. My family loved this place so much, we’re sure to stay here if available when we come back to Sri Lanka again! Thank you, Nicola! 😄

Loved the villa! Right on the beach. Spacious. Loved the simple, elegant interiors, and the muted lighting. We all had a great time in the pool by the beach. The speaker is awesome. Jaan was always prompt in responding. And they proactively informed us that we could check out late as they had no booking on that day - thank you Jaan. The local caretaker Gayan, who lives nearby, comes every day to clean the pool and was helpful. He also drives a tuktuk himself. He came to check on us a few times despite his son being unwell - thank you Gayan. There is a supermarket at a walking distance and a restaurant (called A2). The main town, restaurants, touristy shops are less than 3 kms away and tuktuks are very easily available for hire (the pickme app worked like a charm). We stayed during the off season, so it is quite likely that during the peak season, there are beachfront restaurants and bars operational at a walking distance from the villa.

Nelun's place was perfect, we stayed on first day of our sri lanka vacation and it was the best decission, Place looks exactly like photos and Nelun was very much helpful with insights of local attractions and buses and stuff.

For the dehiwala apartment review : The apartment was clean and well presented. We enjoyed watching the sunset each evening from the balconies which all have an ocean view. The location was great, the bedrooms and aircon comfortable and the bathrooms were clean & fresh. The hosts were responsive and flexible giving us a late check-out as there was no booking after us. The assistant organised for check-in and check-in was easy to liaise with.

Coconut tree villa is such a special place. The location is really incredible, so peaceful, surrounded by jungle with birds, monkeys and peacocks. Our children loved the pool and were made to feel like royalty by the staff on site. We had a few lovely meals prepared by the lovely ladies for extra cost. Roshan the tuk tuk driver took us to the market to choose some fish, but beware, we were scammed when we went ventured off from him to buy fruit, spending £17 on a few items! The town is a 5 min tuk tuk ride away and we paid 600 ruppee each way, directly to Roshan. We were provided with a mobile and we just called him once we had finished at the beach and he arrived in miniutes. Lesley is a fantastic host, and responded to our requests. We had the most incredible start to our trip and wished we had booked longer, we cant wait to return to CTN!

We had a lovely stay at Amanda's villa! Great welcome:) The house is big, the pool is super nice! The paddling pool area is a great idea for small children! However, the train passes right next to the house. Even if we get used to noise quickly, it may come as a surprise at first.

We have just got home after our trip to the Tropical Beach House in Hikkaduwa. What a totally lovely time away. Great communication with Gavin prior to the visit and out in touch with Darmith (house keeper) and taxi transport for arrival. We arrived at 2am to be met by Darmith and Saji (security) and felt at home straight away. Darmith had collected fridge essentials before we arrived so we were set up for the following morning. The house and gardens are lovely, the sound of the ocean 24/7 is just perfect and the house was spotlessly clean with good facilities. Sangrita helped to provide us with Sri Lankan breakfast foods, loved the Dahl curry and the hoppers but also gave us an awesome Brit breakfast of eggs and bacon! Chandra was on hand at night to cook a bbq which was tasty and varied. We used Tuk tuks to get out and about during our stay which were easy to find. Any issues we had were resolved quickly. Lots of local bars and eateries along the beach or further into Hikkaduwa.

Great location, and more than I expected. We had a great time and the host was really good at checking in on us and making the whole trip smooth. He taught how to turn on the POOL JACUZZI!! It was amazing! The bed sheets and towels were brand new or felt new! The space was spotless. We walked right across to the beach and had some amazing food! Surprise is mentioned the hosts name and you get some great service. Everyone seems to know him! The backyard is really quiet and you can have a lovely drink in the Gazebo overlooking the pool. This was a great find! I would recommend this for single and family visitors! Sri Lanka is amazing and the host is a true island hospitality king! We felt safe in the house and the neighborhood. Great WiFi and fully stocked kitchen! Bathrooms were spotless and great shower pressure. We loved it all and wished we stayed longer.
