Chalet Salamandre

Enjoy the peace, the view and the comfort of this stylish chalet. Very suitable as a romantic getaway or relaxing in nature with your family. We are at 650 meters altitude, in a hot summer it is always a little cooler than in the valley and with a breeze, very pleasant. At night, the lake cools down and it's a good night's sleep. We don't need air conditioning. Dogs are welcome, €15 per stay. For the winter months there is a wood stove. The firewood is not included in the rental.

Roquefixade is a very picturesque village and the accomodation is excellent, with a spectacular outlook. There are lovely walks in the area. We especially enjoyed the chateau circuit and another loop walk to Les Demoiselles. Tom was a very friendly and helpful host.

A concrete patio area is visible in front of the property, featuring white lounge chairs and a rustic wooden door leading into the building. Potted plants add touches of greenery along the facade, while a clear sky provides ample sunlight.

I thoroughly recommend this place, although AJAC village has little to offer it is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Limoux is only 4.5km away. Lawrence is both helpful and friendly and the accommodation was very good. I would certainly stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay with Erick and Isabelle - they are wonderful hosts who made us feel very welcome, including organising a tasting of local Corbières wines, and a separate vinegar tasting. The house is beautiful, and very well equipped - for dinner, we could take our pick between bbqing outside on the terrace or cooking in the kitchen. For swimming, we were spoilt for choice, able to swim in the pool as well as in the river below the house. The countryside around the house is great for walks (and the nearby village is easily walkable), but it is quite remote, so a car is needed to get around, and to visit almost any of the nearby sights beyond the village. It was an amazing holiday, and having this great place to stay was a really important part of it!

Well accompanied by our little dog Stella, excellent. A very successful sweet break. The view and the accommodation are sublime. We'll be back, I hope!

My husband and I stayed in Limoux for 4 days and chose this Airbnb. We love it! Simply cute! Home cozy , very green, silence, comfort and great reception! We gain wine, fresh eggs and all care from the hosts. The house is very close to the center as well…about 5 minutes by car. I recommend it!

We really enjoyed our stay with Amy and Duncan! It's a beautiful place, really peaceful with gorgeous views, and it was so nice to have the pool! Duncan and Amy were very friendly hosts - we felt right at home :) It's an ideal location if you have a car and you want to travel around a bit - within an hour or two of a drive there are lots of places to see and things to do - castles, caves, mountains, lovely towns with beautiful old buildings. We would definitely go back here, and will be recommending it to our friends!
