Family-friendly vacation rentals in Van Buren County

Only stayed 2 nights but this cottage was the perfect spot to relax after exploring Saugatuck and Holland. One morning, we kayaked around Mill Lake before heading to Saugatuck (about a 45-minute drive with no traffic) to hike the Dunes North Outer Loop Beach Trail. Afterward, we drove just five minutes to downtown for dinner and drinks, then made our way to Oval Beach to catch the sunset. On another day, we visited Windmill Island for the Tulip Festival, spent some time downtown for dinner, and ended the evening back at the cottage soaking in the hot tub. Thanks for the short notice booking, LOVED the cottage! :)

It’s a good place to stay ,nice lake to go fishing in I caught a lot of bass. The house is clean and head plenty of beds. Hot tub is very nice , the house is in a peaceful area I don’t regret picking this place.

We camped out while my little sis and dad slept in the cabin. Beautiful, quiet place (minus the distant gunshots both nights...it was a holiday weekend, but woof those folks were definitely having a blast). Our dog loved being able to wander about. Plenty of space for our tent, and to park a couple cars. We had a couple great nights sitting around the fire, and we'll consider coming back in the future when we need a getaway from the city! One note - if you go with a group, you'll have to come up with rules for using the "bathroom" as essentially it's in the same open room as the twin beds and there are no walls, just privacy room dividers that you open and close.

We loved the condo. Plenty of room and a beautiful view of the lake. Loved having the pool as well as being right on the beach. The kitchen is well equipped. Hope to stay here again!

I have to say thank you, thank you, thank you! After my Airbnb at another property in Michigan informed me that they overbooked and I could not check in until a day later than I anticipated, I was put in a difficult situation, scrambling to find a place that will allow me to stay for one night. Jim was amazing in allowing us to come in and stay at the HollyWoods for the beginning of our trip. I wished I had found his place 2 months ago when I booked our entire week vacation The HollyWoods was far superior to where we ended up for the rest of our vacation. The hiking trails on the property, the fishing pond, the landscaping, the house, the kitchen that included everything you might need, exceeded all my expectations. The HollyWoods turned out to be better than any other Airbnb at which you've stayed. I highly, highly recommend The HollyWoods!

I just love Eagle Lake, it's so beautiful and peaceful out there. The cottage offers a stunning view of the lake from its deck. Stephaney has kayaks and paddle boats available while you are staying there. Keeps the kids entertained for sure. Will definitely stay there again!!

We really enjoyed our visit - it was so lovely to have a view of the pond, enjoy the firepit, walk through the woods, and of course check in on the chickens, goats, and llama that we could also see through our windows! It was very quiet and Bill was very helpful in answering our questions. We soaked in the jacuzzi while it snowed and rained outside and found the kitchen to have all the cookware and utensils we needed (we brought our own salt, pepper, oil, etc.) Thank you!

First time to South Haven and it was a gem! The house was very clean, looks as it does in the pictures, and was well stocked with everything you might have forgotten at home. Communication was prompt and courteous. Definitely with the price. Thank you so much for the opportunity to visit your town and feel as though I was at home while doing so. I hated to leave!!

A clean, cozy home, great for our weekend getaway. It is a very short drive to downtown South Haven and the beach. We found the location very convenient. We were glad we chose this!

This is a great stay when you have a large group and are out enjoying South Haven. We tended to stay inside with the kids and the children's room did not entertain them as well as hoped. Most guests will have outdoor plans on the town and the outside area at the house with the playground is nice.

The photos don’t do this house justice. It is so spacious and the kitchen has everything you need. The shower has great water pressure and everything just feels like home!

I booked this house on the last minute for a weekend and it was everything as described. I loved the location, as you could walk to pretty much everything! I appreciate the house being pet friendly, and my dog enjoyed going for neighborhood walks! The house was very clean with beautiful woodwork. The beach is stunning and it is fun to watch the boats from Admiral Jack’s with cocktail in hand!

Ideal location for a family get away! The kids loved playing on the beach playground as well as in the lake itself. We were able to easily ride bikes to shops and restaurants including the local movie theater and a nearby park. Clementines has the best onion rings we've ever tasted and the kids loved the cream filled donuts at The Golden Brown Bakery. Captain Lou's was a fun spot for an adult beverage! The town house had tons of space and we enjoyed the family games (UNO & Sequence) and beach/pool toys that were there. We'd definitely return.

This property was great for some couples and a few dogs. We really enjoyed the clean and spacious house and would recommend to those interested.

Friendly staff, very responsive to questions before and during the stay. House was beautiful and was a short walk to the shared/community pool that was covered (but could also be converted to being uncovered for sunny days). Also a short walk to the other outdoor pool. Short drive to downtown South Haven, which was awesome. Meijer was nearby, so when we needed more food or drinks, we were able to pick up something quickly. Would definitely stay here again!

Great place to stay even in the winter months. The constant roar of the wind and the waves crashing on the lake lulled me to sleep every night.

Great stay! Very peaceful and quiet, exactly what we needed. Family friendly space, with enough space for 8 or more people. The house was just as described and the amenities, such as the pool and hot tub, were a great addition to our weekend getaway. Would recommend!

Felt it was a good value for what else I was seeing. Newer build, clean. We did not use the community pool. Close enough to walk into town. We had a nice stay.

This is the perfect condo in the perfect location. A beautiful view of the Black River and close to the beach and town. Thoughtfully stocked with everything our family needed for a week of rest and relaxation. We absolutely love this condo and will be back!
