Comfortable Wooden Bed in Ella

AyaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Thilan’s wood house in Ella was absolutely breathtaking. The panoramic view over Ella is out of this world, and the wooden houses are beautifully designed with a cozy interior. Our rooms had everything we needed after a long journey: fridge, kettle, teacups, water, and tea/coffee, which made us feel instantly at home. We had such a relaxing stay, and Thilan even prepared a delicious dinner for us at a very reasonable price. One thing to note is that the road access is limited; cars can’t reach the accommodation directly- but Thilan arranged tuktuks for us, so everything went smoothly and comfortably. I vividly recommend this place. The view alone is worth it, you’re definitely not ready for how stunning it is!
A charming exterior view showcases a white house with red shutters, complemented by a intricately patterned cobblestone pathway. Lush green grass surrounds the home, and tall trees provide a natural backdrop under a clear blue sky.

Dutch House Bandarawela

AdrianRating, 5 stars8 months ago
What an amazing place, in a beautiful area of the island. From the moment we drew up to the gates of the Dutch House, we were greeted by the most gorgeous Dutch villa, and the all-pervasive smile of Kannan, who looked after us like members of the family during our stay. The house sits high on the hills outside of Bandarawela, up a short, but very steep road, which gives it a great vantage point over the surrounding lush hills and mountains. It’s a great climate so a gin and tonic on the veranda was a joy. We made use of the pool, and although not heated, you soon get used to it. The surrounding gardens are very well kept and have a plethora of birds and other wildlife. The food prepared by the on site chef was wonderful, as was the attentive service from Kannan. We also had the best sleep we've had during our trip. Even if you’re not in the immediate area, a drive here and a stay in this wonderful house, will surely be one of the highlights of any trip. It was for ours.

h3 hilltop heaven full villa

FionRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This was an amazing stay! I wish I stayed longer. The owners Asith and his wife have made a lovely piece of heaven in the mountains. The property and it's surrounding are a dream! The hosts are kind and made us a top notch breakfast. On top of that they are so accommodating and super hard working. There are some considerations when people choose to book, if you're bringing a mini van it's a bit tricky, but the owners make it work! But just keep in mind roads are narrow. They provide their tuk tuk to help as well.
A dining table is set for breakfast outdoors, featuring various dishes including fruits, bread, and beverages. Two individuals are seated, enjoying their meal in a natural setting, with greenery visible in the background. The space is sheltered by a partially covered area.

place to stay ella

VolhaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
My stay at this place by the water was simply & good. The natural sounds and the view of the temple create an peaceful atmosphere—perfect for relaxation. My host was fantastic!!!He speaks excellent English, gave me great tips, and even organized a full-day tour for me. He was patient, kind, and always helpful. The accommodation is slightly away from the tourist crowds—exactly what I was looking for. I stayed for two nights and was completely satisfied. The room had everything I needed, including a small balcony.
Lush green tea gardens roll gently across the landscape, leading toward a distant mountain rising against a blue sky. The scene is dotted with trees and a winding pathway, offering a sense of tranquility and connection to nature.

We travelled with our 3 year old daughter and had an exceptionally nice stay! We recommend it 100%. Stunning views, peaceful surroundings. Fantastic breakfasts served on the beautiful terrace. It’s even better than the pictures! The host family was extremely kind and helpful at all times. The house is located at walking distance to 9 Arch Bridge and about 15 min by tuk tuk/car from central Ella. It’s super easy to find transport and to get around. We will for sure cone back and enjoy this house and Ella! Thank you so much.

"Shanthi Villa", Home-stay, Bandarawela

PhilippRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Incredibly kind host family. They were always helpful, gave us a ride into town and organized a scooter for us. We used the home stay to explore the Ella region. While Ella is super touristy, the town of the Airbnb is very genuine and we loved the hustle and bustle. It is a separate apartment with a separate entrance. You’ll have everything you need including 2 bedrooms, 2 new bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a living room and terrace overlooking the property.
