Boutique hotel vacation rentals in Ukyo Ward

We really like how the location was spot on! Super close to station easily if you are taking to go anywhere pretty much. It took us day two to start making use more of the public transport than ubering which the reception would suggest mostly which is not required. And close to convenience store and our favourite Daiso! And wow to the Zettaria which is one fast food that taste so good and is nearby just for a quick bite before beginning your day. The bathroom size, shower pressure is good! The thing I reckon they could improve on is the public coin operated laundry usage. The dryer could be clean more I reckon. And the reception could also give us two access cards instead since is kind of like a hotel stay. Other than that, everything else was perfect enough!

The location is very close to one of the stations connecting to Kyoto station which made getting around super easy. The accommodation was nice and spacious whilst also feeling cozy. Checking in was really easy. I turned up the day after I was due to check in and they had left my key in a locker on reception which made the whole process so much easier. Host was super helpful and made sure everything was okay.

We were a family of 3. We felt right at home. Location was quiet and easy to get to multiple subway stations or bus lines. We mostly left for the day and came back at night so didn’t spend a lot of time there, but it suited our needs. My only feedback is that the beds could use a topper on them. I felt every spring in the beds (tried both), but I’m a picky sleeper :).

What a gem for East Kyoto, located near so many amazing restaurants, several beautiful canals, Gion, and extraordinary temples. The shower is strong with lots of hot water, we loved the little garden outside our window, and the beds were very comfortable. The community eating area has a great coffee machine and water dispenser. Host has great communication. We were very happy with our stay here, thank you!

We had a great stay at TOKA/Kyoto! Even the room is small it felt very comfortable and we were able to lay down two bigger suitcases. The area is great, walking distance to cafes, restaurants, the river and bus stops. We have to point out that the staff went beyond to help us redirecting a parcel we got send from our previous hotel to TOKA. They were so helpful, calling the post agency and helping us out. Thanks again! All the staff we met were super friendly :)

I am so glad we chose to stay at Kitty and Sakura's place. Kitty was out of town so we mostly interacted with Sakura. I unfortunately left my phone on the shinkansen from Tokyo and he went above and beyond to help me (just a reminder to add all guests to your trip through Airbnb before your trip as it was very helpful to still be able to message Sakura). He also was very understanding about needing to meet him 2 hours later than expected at the airbnb. With Sakura's help, I was able to eventually get my phone back 2 days later. My mom and I had the best time and loved the location, especially with the river nearby. There are also lots of great restaurants in walking distance, including a a yummy izakaya (Yamaga), a surprisingly good French place (les deux garcons), a great coffee place (Cafe Verdi) and a bakery I will always remember (Baikal - try the peach Sakura tart if you can). if I come back to Kyoto I would love to stay here again!!

After a full or half day of wandering around Kyoto, returning the this Air bnb was something we always looked forward to. Though not located directly on or by a busy road, this is accessible and a managable walking distance from public transportation options as well as many local sights. Thank you Karen!
