The place was exact as described. It was quite spacious and we felt right at home. Considering we had a small baby, we didn’t have any issue during the stay. The check-in and checkout process was straightforward. The neighbourhood was quiet and had good commute options. Highly recommend this place.

Staying at the Gion house was an absolute treat. It was the best airbnbs we have stayed in. Curtis and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They gave excellent recommendations and were very responsive to any questions we had. The atmosphere was beautiful and we appreciated the attention to detail of the historic home. We would highly recommend staying here and we would definitely return!

The neighbourhood is really nice and quiet with many restaurants and konbini nearby. Even though it is quite far away from the nearest train station, there are many bus-stops nearby for getting around Kyoto. The host was really nice and helped explained to us all the rules and information about the stay, including nearby restaurants and amenities.

Great clean and modern place to stay within walking distance to the shopping center. Geisha town in Gion is also nearby, not to mention the station to Osaka. The best part is the responsive host who went the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you very much for everything you do. We strongly recommend you to stay here when visiting Kyoto.

Our stay in this apartment was great. We liked that it was outside of the touristic center, but still close to everything. It was also very easy to find and to do the self check-in thanks to Yasushi's clear instructions. He also provided a lot of recommendations for restaurants which was very much appreciated. We would definitely stay here again!

My plane was late so I couldn’t get to Japan in time to stay. I paid but didn’t stay there. It was too late to cancel.

We had overall great experience at Matatabi's place. The location is great --about 2 minute walks to the subway station, and it's surrended by convenient store, various restaurants. On top of that it's walking distance to the imperial garden of Kyoto! The room is clean, decent and quiet. It's the place where I would like to live if I ever go to Kyoto again.

Relatively close to major locations. A short walk to buses to many tourist locations. Convenience store a short walk away. It's a little small, but the amenities you need is all there. would be nice if there was a scissors

We've had a wonderful stay at the appartement of Nana. We absolutely loved the location. It's in a quiet alley, but close near some beautiful attractions. Inwoulde definitely recommend staying here!

The place was great, close to a bus stop. There are quite a few eating options and supermarkets nearby. The appartment itself was cozy and clean. The host was friendly and responsive. Highly recommanded.

A very efficient studio apartment of small dimensions common in Japan, while rare for most folks visiting from the West. Staying in a well maintained space of this kind makes a visitor's experience more "authentic." By being on a small street one can observe the rhythms of daily life than in most tourist areas.

Fast internet makes this one of the best value for your money options in Kyoto. The Northern stop right next to the apartment building of Bus 46 takes you right to the Big Attractions of Kyoto. Nijo Castle, Karasuma, Kawaramachi, Kamo River, Gion and Heian Shrine in less than 40 minutes.

이번 여행은 아기와 부모님이 함께한 여행이어서 숙소 선정에 많은 고민을 했습니다. 결론적으로, 아기와 부모님이 있는 가족이라면 추천합니다. 1. 숙소 위치 교토 역에서 택시비 한화 10,000원 이하로 이용 가능합니다. 저는 주로 교토 역에서 유모차 끌고 걸어서 다녔습니다. 그리고 청수사까지 택시로 한화 20,000원 이하로 다닐 수 있어서 유모차나 거동이 불편한 분이 계시다면 택시를 추천합니다. 시티버스 정류장도 근처에 있어서 종종 이용했습니다.(주로 택시를 탔기때문에 시티투어 패스를 이용하지 않고 현금을 사용했습니다.) 택시를 이용할 땐 '니시혼간지'에 내려달라고 하면 됩니다. 바로 건너편에 숙소 입구가 있어서 찾기 쉽습니다. 2. 숙소 시설 주방에서 보이는 '니시혼간지' 배경이 너무 좋습니다. 비가 오는 날에도 운치있고 가까워서 매우 여유롭게 이 곳을 구경했습니다. 전자레인지와 전기포트, 컵, 수저 등이 있었고 특히 엘리베이터가 있어서 유모차 이용이 너무 편리했습니다. 따뜻한 물이 잘 나와서 욕조도 잘 썼습니다. 3. 기타 체크인 전에 짐 보관 가능했습니다. 근처에 '소복정'이라는 우동집에서 식사를 포장해서 먹었는데 간이 세지 않아서 가볍게 식사하기 좋았습니다. 숙소 바로 옆에 로숀 편의점도 잘 이용했습니다. 도로 앞에 위치하고 있어서 소음이 약간 있는 편이지만 잠은 편안하게 잘 잤습니다. 대부분 너무 만족스러웠지만 숙소에서 가까운 관광지나 맛집 등 안내가 추가로 있으면 더 좋을 것 같습니다. 다음에도 또 머물고 싶은 곳입니다.

Went to Kansas university for a conference. It is a really nice and affordable place to stay. The host is super nice and responsive. The check in process is seamless. The place itself is clean and adorable too. I have got everything I needed there. And thank you for the delicious tea bags!

Ohara allowed me to stay in his beautiful home and was a wonderful host. Very friendly and the home was very close to the station and multiple stores.

K/H did an amazing job as a host and making me feel welcome during my stay in Kyoto. Their clear directions made the stay seamless. Noise around the bnb was not as bad as expected ( rail line by the apartment), and it didn’t impact my sleep at all! Thanks again!

This my 2nd stay with Base in Kyoto. The place is conviniently Located near a grocery store and the train station In Hanazono. Will stay here again when I'm in Kyoto.

This was the best accommodation during our Japan travel. The place was so spacious compared to the other places we stayed at in Japan, and even the bathroom which I found very small in general around Japan was very big here. Especially loved the outdoor bath!! A baby cot and bath tub were provided and our baby slept beautifully during the stay. Our futons were comfortable too.

We stayed at four airBnb‘s in Japan and all have their good points, but this was by far the best. Located in a quiet suburb so not walking distance to the main sites of Kyoto, but with some lovely sites that we would not have seen otherwise Close by. It was as simple Uber ride or train ride to get into Kyoto for main sightseeing and it was lovely to come home to a quiet un bustling local with a wide choice of excellent restaurants to choose among. The apartment itself is spacious, by far the most spacious we stayed in And it’s part of a an apartment complex which has a small gym. Nori and Fumi even served us breakfast all three days we were there in another upstairs breakfast room. To top it off, they picked this up and dropped us off at this train station three days later. All in all it was a really welcoming and comfortable place to stay, well worth the price we paid

I had such a great time staying here! The place was super clean, comfy, and had everything I needed. The location was also perfect, it was a quiet area and super close to transportation services. It was easy to get around and explore the area. The host made everything super easy from check-in to check-out. You can tell they really care about making your stay enjoyable. All in all, it was a lovely experience. I’d definitely recommend this spot to friends, and I’d love to stay again next time I’m in town!
