The marsh with all its experiences is right outside the door, and if you are into the Black Sun, there is plenty of opportunity to experience this amazing phenomenon. You will be staying close to the Wadden Sea, which is on UNESCO's World Heritage List. Marielund is a danish farmhouse (est. 1907) in a beautiful and isolated spot right by the baltic sea. It has been completely refurbished, and includes modern amenities, a fireplace and good quality Scandinavian country style furnishing (completed in May 2020). Stunning location, 40 meters from a private beach with direct access through the large south facing garden. Enjoy the sounds of the sea, birdsong and the nights sky in absolute privacy, with no neighbours or tourism to be seen!

Halmhuset - The Straw House

Our thatched house is probably the only "Halmhuset" that is rented as a vacation home in Denmark. It is breathable, made of clay and straw, and is sustainably supplied by heat pump and photovoltaics. In summer, the thick walls provide pleasant coolness, in winter it is cozy and warm, with a room height of up to 4 meters. A real feel-good place for up to 8 people, located at the gates of the city of Tønder, close to the Wadden Sea National Park and the islands of Sylt and Rømø.

We live directly on the Wiedaudeich, which belongs to a large nature reserve with a fascinating birdlife and at the same time forms the border with Denmark. Fogedgaarden

Stay in a charming old farm from the 1700s. In its heyday, the farm belonged to the King's riding bailiff and was one of the largest farms in the area, which the living room and breeding buildings still bear the mark of. The house is old and the decor is chosen with respect for history and with a significant part of the family's furniture.
