Monthly Rentals in Thwaites

Great location and very peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed the disconnect from the outside world, and to be able to tick off a Wainwright from the roundhouse was great. My wife loved the experience with Cumbrian Heavy Horses. We loved being able to support such an amazing place.

This was my second visit to the house and even better than I remembered. A perfect place to come with my loved ones to celebrate turning 30. I can’t thank you enough for creating a home from home. We didn’t want to leave! I am sure I’ll be back again!

My family of 4 adults had a lovely stay at Ali's cottage. It is quite original and twee, set in a twee little village but has all the modern amenities one needs for a comfortable stay. You need a car to explore the beautiful lake district especially if you only spend a few days there, and Ali's place is a good cosy base. It suited our family who wanted a peaceful location not over-touristy or crowded. We didn't try the local eateries as we have dietary intolerances, but were able to get our food supplies from a supermarket in Millom (about 7 miles away). We were lucky to have fine mild weather during our stay, but wished we had a longer stay as there are so many lovely places in the lake district we would like to visit. We hope to come back sometime in the near future and will look up Ali's place again. Thanks Ali for a delightful stay!

absolutely brilliant stay, it was so private and cosy! the house is incredible, the pictures do not do it justice, it was huge! we loved the games room and the hot tub and sauna were fab! John was brilliant to communicate with and very helpful! the whole group loved this place, it's the perfect spot for a friends reunion or families. I have saved this house to come back again in the future! highly recommend!
