A perfect stay. The accommodation was beautiful right on the lakeside with ducks welcoming us. Lovely touches such as fairy lights, Prosecco, chocolates.Alexa.Spotlessly clean with a great shower and comfy bed. The location was perfect for us very private and peaceful and walkable to a pub. We visited Sherwood Forest easily and Idle Valley Nature Reserve. Definitely the best place we have stayed in the U.K. and I have already recommended to others. Thanks for a wonderful weekend.

We had a wonderful Easter holiday at the cottage. It was spotless inside and out, with one of the best-maintained gardens we’ve ever seen. The bedroom was spacious, communication was excellent, and we appreciated the fresh flower bouquet, well-stocked essentials, and delicious homemade cakes. The tasteful selection of books and DVDs, helpful direction advice and local tips, and clear instructions on display made our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

From the moment we arrived, we felt completely welcomed and at home. David greeted us personally and was incredibly warm and friendly; he immediately made us feel like more than just guests. He was fantastic with our children, even happily showing them his chickens when they asked! The garden is a standout feature of the property, especially with the lovely weather we had during our stay. Our children were outside playing at every opportunity, and David’s philosophy of raising “free-range children” really resonated as the space is perfect for it. The garden is easily visible from the house, which gave us peace of mind while the kids played freely. We chose this home as a base for visiting Sundown Adventureland and Rand Farm Park, and it was ideal for both. The house itself was immaculate, with extremely comfortable beds, and the peaceful surroundings meant we all slept soundly every night. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone, especially families.
