Cabin vacation rentals in Sugar Mountain

Theresa the co-host went out of her way to maintain communication with me. At any point I wanted to give her updates or ask any questions she was only a phone call away. I felt super welcomed and safe. She stocked the house with all of your basic food needs. There was a surplus of kitchen supplies to make a home cooked meal. Parking at the well and hiking up to the cabin with my belongings was quite a challenge It's about 65 steps. Once up there I took full advantage of the Hottub. I recommend to any guests to bring their own hammock to enjoy swinging in the front porch and listening to the creek. I recommend wearing hiking shoes to go up to the cabin. I absolutely recommend getting to the cabin way before dark, and if unable bring your own headlamps and flashlights. Be hyper prepared if you've never been into isolated wilderness like that. Enjoyed our stay. Watuga River out back in a quiet neighborhood. And, the short walk to Grandfather Vineyard made it even better.

Serenity Falls is beautiful inside and out! Very relaxing and peaceful. The comfy bed, hot tub, waterfall, and flowing water beside the house made for a very enjoyable and restful trip. Some places do not have comfortable beds or clean hot tubs, this place was great! Also plenty of towels and blankets. Too steep of terrain for us to hike, but was a beautiful location - would love to see when the rhododendrons are blooming. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

We came for peace and quiet to celebrate my birthday. It was a beautiful cabin and everything was as described. This home was perfectly accommodating to our needs as a family. My children had so much fun and all the adults were comfortable. The location is private, peaceful, and quiet and we really enjoyed that. Upon arriving to the home, I lost service and the GPS took us through Blowing Rock and Holloway mountain Rd—DO NOT go that route. Make sure to drive through Morganton, then Sugar Mountain, and finally Banner Elk. The home’s instructions were clear and concise regarding the amenities and departure. The owner put much thought into the small details to make this space comfortable for their guests, it is beautifully and extremely thoughtfully decorated. The beds were comfortable, the bedding was new/very gently used, the towels were new as well. The deck was awesome, views were nice, and a separate space for kids to hang and play was wonderful. We would definitely stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Glass Treehouse. We usually visit the area a couple times a year so we were looking for a house that was the main event for our trip. More than home-base, the Glass Tree House offers top tier peace and relaxation. The octagonal design is supreme. We found the serenity of the landscape is at the heart of the design. The rooms face outward so you can always see nature. As you move through the home you feel wrapped by the windows. It is a brilliant design. Our favorite feature is the timed outdoor landscaping lights. It was wonderful to view the rocks and trees at night from such a place of comfort. We are certainly dreaming of our next visit to The Glass Treehouse. Thank you for hosting this home!!

We had a wonderful stay at Brian’s cabin! It is so perfectly appointed with everything you’d need. It looks just like the pictures, was very clean, and the location was perfect (a short drive into town). The views are everything!! Brian was super helpful and responded very quickly when we had an issue with the tv. We would love to visit again soon!

The stay and the host was great! When there was anything we needed, Ms. Angela was quick to respond. The house guide provided was very helpful as well.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Briar Patch. The surroundings, both the main house and guest house, the tranquil sounds from the river, the layout, the wonderful, cozy character--everything was so special and peaceful. Jerome and Kellie were easily available to answer questions and resolve any concerns. We greatly appreciated the grill, hot tub, all the windows in dining area, the well-stocked kitchen, and the hospitality. We will definitely return!

What a beautiful cabin!!!! We were there for a week trying to get some snowboarding runs in before the end of the season. The Cabin feels secluded and you have your own privacy. We enjoyed cooking everyday, looking out at the views from the sliding doors was so peaceful! We got snow twice and the cabin is so cozy. We had such a great time and the loft was great to work in and kids enjoyed sleeping up there. We loved the fire pit out back, we made s’mores, stargazed and the hot tub was so great after long days on the mountain snowboarding. Great memories were made and our host was excellent! I want to go back already!

This was one of the best places I’ve stayed in Boone. Perfectly close to campus and King Street, but also perfectly secluded in the mountains. The house was so perfect. The hot tub and s’mores were a perfect touch! Will 100% be back! 😁

My friends and I stayed here for my bachelor party, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! We had an amazing time and enjoyed pretty much every amenity offered. It was also extremely clean and well looked after, and Tyler was a great communicator. You won’t want to leave!

Excellent place to stay if you want a mountain cabin vibe but with a modern twist. feels safe cuz it’s a gated neighborhood and you have a couple neighbors. great views of greenery. saw lots of elk and turkey on the property. perfect for a small family or couple getaway. close to banner elk downtown. there is a graveyard next to the fire pit but wasn’t a big concern.

Great location! It’s a very comfortable place to stay. We love the restaurants, shopping, hiking and views in the area.

We had a great time at Buttermilk Acres. The place is beautiful and a lovely get away into nature. The showers were awesome and bathroom was close to the cabin so going outside wasn’t a bother at all (even at 8 months pregnant!)

This is one of the best places my friend group has stayed. Very comfortable space that offers something for everyone. Tom is a great host and very responsive. The place was really clean. Also great location for all mountain activities.

Loved the place. The house was super cute and very cozy. It slept all of us comfortably. The roads coming in and the steep drive way, you definitely need 4 wheel drive. But would definitely recommend this house. Thanks!

Had an excellent stay here with our two dogs. The house was clean, welcoming, and comfortable. The little touches like having a dog crate and dog bowls available made it even better. We had to use 4-wheel drive to get up the steep driveway after rain and snow came through, but otherwise it wasn’t an issue. The location was far away enough to have peace and privacy, but close enough to easily access shops and restaurants in town. Would love to stay here again!

We had a wonderful time at Kristine & Chris's place near Blowing Rock! It's about 5 miles from the town and about a 10 minute drive to Blue Ridge Parkway so we spent a lot of time sightseeing, hiking, and enjoying the mountains. They had a great yard for our pup and had left some dog toys that we threw around to get some good energy out. Our first night, we had dinner in town, then came back and enjoyed the fire and had some wine. The place is in a very quiet little neighborhood with very friendly neighbors and in a great location close to all of the fun spots that area offers. We will definitely be back!
