Spacious and beautiful Alexandria home

This home is set up like a duplex with owners occupying the top (we do have 3 young children) and guests having full, private access to the bottom half. Guests are given a private garage and back yard that includes free firewood. Private entry gives access to over 2,200 sq ft of private space that includes a semi-four seasons room with gas fireplace, laundry, and full kitchen. Our LOTR themed treehouse, along with our LOTR Wizard's Cottage, have been described as a "love letter to Tolkien himself." We have been featured on PBS and WJON radio. Joan and I live on the acreage, about 200 ft. from the Wizard's Cottage and very far from the treehouse, which is located on the back part of the acreage. It has a fenced-in portion that makes up the Shire Garden. Down the hill is our nod to Mordor. Feel free to visit and dare to open the "Mor Do(o)r." Diversity is welcome.

Beautiful farmhouse with new huge enclosed screen porch on 5 acres without a neighbor in sight. Once a working farm, now a weekend getaway for friends and family. The property has a main home and an authentic cabin moved over from the Indian Beach Resort on Green Lake. Perfect for groups but very private. The house sits 500 yards from the lake down a path through the woods in an old oak savanna. Canoeing, hiking, lawn games, bird watching and canning are some of our favorite things to do

Our family of five really enjoyed staying at Mike’s cabin over New Year’s. The space was perfect for our three kids and they loved playing in the lofted space and going up and down the spiral staircase. We enjoyed playing games, watching movies and just spending quality time together in this cozy space. We also enjoyed watching the ice houses and people driving (really sliding) around on the lake from the living room window. Such a quiet and beautiful spot on the lake. We’ll have to come back in the summer months to enjoy playing on the lake. Thanks for hosting us!

Beautiful getaway in north central MN. The fall colors over the lake were breathtaking and the cabin was the perfect retreat for a group of friends. Spent nights around the bonfire swapping stories. Would definitely recommend. Ev was so responsive and very pleasant to communicate with, too.

In spite of anything I've said here that may be seen as a negative, it was only meant as helpful feedback. The service and accommodations were great overall, a very good value and I would be happy to stay there again if the opportunity arises. One last item, the outlet that served the coffee pot stopped working our first day. We could not find a tripped breaker. It wasn't really a problem as we just moved the pot to a different location - actually, I think it's better where we put it being away from a busy part of the kitchen - but I just wanted to make sure you knew so it could be repaired. Thank you.
