Train vacation rentals in South West England

We had a lovely weekend at the Train Carriage. It had everything we needed. Brian was very friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful throughout our stay. The carriage was in a perfect position for experiencing Swanage Steam Railway. Would thoroughly recommend.

Our second visit (last time in early December 2024) and we totally enjoyed the GWR wagon. Lovely birdsong throughout, home comforts (very posh glamping), peaceful and just a great Easter weekend break. Two of the nicest hosts you can wish to find. A great base for a few day trips and then feet up afterwards. We plan to return again.

St Austell's hidden gem! We are so pleased we stumbled upon this quirky, off grid stay nestled in the valley. My wife and I, our 3 children 3,4 and 6 and our dog Winnie all fitted comfortably into the carriage. The boys loved the bunk beds and our eldest took the twin room at the other end of the carriage. We had the double! The weather wasn't great so we had the little woodburner on its the morning and before bed, and the kids loved helping us build the fire. It was our first time using an eco loo, which is not for everyone but I loved it! Fantastic warm outdoor shower added an element of luxury to the stay. There was also a lot of open outdoor space which the kids loved cycling around on. Great opportunity to get the kids away from screens, and our eldest is now addicted to Uno! For us, the carriage was a great intro into off grid living and we found the experience good value for money. Thank you Chris & Jo! The Duseks.

Immersive environment mix with nature and well being facility include sauna, outdoor bath, swim pool and birds, everything you imagine could happen here, at least from my world of having luxury indulge with balance of nature creations, river, green, bird and horse. Also this credit to the owner of the family who took good care of the land and service. And the price is unbeatable. One more sentence We will be back

A fantastic little escape — serene, peaceful, and offering a stunning panoramic view. It is wonderfully remote and secluded, yet ideally located for local hikes and exploring the Brecon Beacons. The lovely little carriage is beautiful and cosy, perfectly fitting the whole 'closer to nature' experience. Graham is an excellent host: friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The freshly baked loaf was such a nice touch as well. Thank you for a truly wonderful stay!

We had an absolutely amazing stay! The carriage is fab, clean and comfortable. It was spot on to the description and even more! The instructions to get in were super clear and helpful we didn’t get lost for a second. The hot tub was fab and ready for our arrival and was perfect with the bottle of fizz. The handbook was great and super informative with lots of great recommendations, we wish we were staying longer to try a recommended restaurant and explore the area. The carriage is super private and peaceful with beautiful surroundings. Thank you so much for a great stay! Have already recommended to family and friends.

Had the absolute best week returning to the wagon on old chapel farm. Really lovely experience, would highly recommend to anyone! The hosts were lovely, really helpful and hospitable. Me and my partner absolutely can’t wait to return!
