The Alpina house was acquired by Nelly Hellrigl-Greiner in 1935. Initially, it was run as a guesthouse, butcher shop and a small farm. After a few years, the agriculture and butcher's shop were abandoned. By converting and increasing the barn, more rooms were gained.
