High Desert and Lake Retreat

This place is magical! The interior is beautifully and thoughtfully designed, and you could spend hours just looking at all the stunning artwork. Outside it is so serene - for most of my stay all I heard was coyotes, and at night there is nothing but stars. The outdoor tub was so fun to be in, just soaking and staring at the stars above. The grounds are fun to wander around, and the Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel is just a couple blocks away - great bar and restaurant. Make sure you find the hot springs fed lake where there is a secret soaking spot. It was a peaceful and rejuvenating stay, and I would definitely go back. There is something unique about this place that will fill your soul. Thank you Graham, Noir, and Robert.

We have stayed at Angel’s place a few times. It’s is by far our favorite place to stay in Calexico before heading south into Baja. Great location & A/C , clean, comfortable beds…perfect for us! Thank You Angel 🙏

The Desert View Tower

Better than the (limited) photos. The Desert View Tower is so unique it's a bit hard to summarize in a review. Ben and some family were welcoming and wonderful hosts. We loved having access to the cabin and to the entire tower full of countless wonders and curiosities. It felt kind of like spending the night at a museum. We had a great dinner and drinks at Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel, which was a short car ride away. When we got back, Ben made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the fireplace in the central part of the tower and it was a very relaxing evening. The sleeping area definitely has a glamping vibe, which we found to be fun. The main bed is built into a boulder. I will also mention the location is at the crest of a mountain and it gets crazy windy. If you're looking for an adventure, this place is it!

This place is dreamy, a rustic getaway yet comfortable. We visited during a storm, we didn’t loose power and we were warm despite being 38F/3-4 C• which was crazy. We did bring extra blankets and that was helpful because it was 7 of us and my mom didn’t feel comfortable having the fireplace on through the night but if that’s not your case you should be totally fine. My mom was happy and she’s never usually happy with things, it was the perfect getaway for us. The restaurants are nearby, local attractions are nearby, the space had plenty of room for the kids - it was great and I’m grateful we visited. We hope we can come back again during the summer to be able to stargaze more. Also shout out to Juana María who was always ready to help when we had questions and to Rosa who answered all my questions.

My mom spoke highly of this place and she is hard to please. Well kept place. Good security. Quiet neighborhood. Walkable neighborhood. Close to grocery stores.

I had a wonderful stay at Jose's Airbnb in Mexicali. The location is safe, nestled in a serene environment that's perfect for a quiet stay. The property is well-maintained and clean, with furnishings and beds. Jose was an attentive and helpful host, always responsive to our questions and providing great local recommendations. The wifi worked great and AC was blasting cold specially on this HOT weather which made it comfortable to stay home. However, this also encouraged us to unplug and enjoy the natural beauty around us. Overall, I highly recommend this Airbnb for anyone looking to experience Mexicali tranquility. Five stars! Thank you Jose
