A private rental inn "gu" within walking distance of the Shimanto River

朱美Rating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
It was a renovated old house, and the tatami mats and living room were very beautiful and clean. It is about a 7-8 minute walk to the nearby Shimanto River. It was a really fun place for the kids to catch bugs like dragonflies and play in the water with floats. However, it is an accommodation that you pass through a drawbridge, so I was afraid to drive at first, but the wind was not strong, so I got used to it after going through it several times. The BBQ hut was really open, and I was able to relax and enjoy myself. The host was polite, kind, and flexible, and it was a really great trip. It was also helpful that it was easy to separate the garbage! There is a door in the bathroom that opens directly to the outside, so it is very convenient to go to the bath after playing in the water. It was a very relaxing and lovely place to experience something out of the ordinary!

We loved everything about Ryoko’s place - location, bedroom, cleanliness. Also, Ryoko was the perfect host. Thanks so much for having us!

The accommodation was clean and the owner was kind and we had a pleasant time.I had a lot of luggage from fishing and surfing, but it was very helpful that they lent me a warehouse! It was my first time traveling to Kochi, but it was really good to use this as a base.

A quiet old house nestled in the mountains of Shimanto City. Just relax in a private space with nothing around.

We went to the place as a family of four, as we arrived very late, the place is in the woods and its abit dark and narrow, but with host’s instruction we still manage to find the way in. It’s a renovated old wooden house in the woods, it’s good to experience the old traditional Japanese style. And you can really feel the nature in the morning with singing birds around. Two things to note is the bathroom is separated from the main house and it’s abit not convenient. And highly recommend to arrive daytime so you can see the road clearly. But if you are a nature person, this is a good place to go and it’s also near the Shimanto city which you can do cycling along the river and enjoy the view.
