Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Shelby County

IT WAS EVERYTHING. I truly can't think of anything more we could have wanted. Scott is friendly, accommodating and responsive. Upon arrival, Eagles Nest was warm, inviting, and welcoming. And that was just the foyer. Walking into the main area was amazing. The view is extraordinary. Sitting on the couch and looking out, you can easily imagine you're sitting at the front of a huge boat. And with the double doors open...just WOW! The beds were heavenly, the place was super clean and the kitchen was VERY well-stocked. Scott and Shanelle are so generous; they include firewood, kayaks, giant Jenga and Connect 4, cornhole and boardgames galore. Even a s'mores kit! Some highlights for us were sitting on the beautiful deck as a family one night to take in the sound of the rain against the deck's tin roof and kayaking to Goat Island. The day after returning home, we all just wanted to go back! Scott, we can't thank you enough. You set a VERY high bar! BEST. FAMILY. VACATION. EVER.

This was our second stay and we had a great time with our 2 small kids. The open floor plan is great for letting the kids play while we cook in the very well stocked kitchen. Very convenient location to McWayne science center and other parks for kid entertainment as well as restaurants and a cute little wine bar for the grownups. Overall we would stay there again for sure.

The location was very quiet and secluded but so close to so many things. Having two bedrooms with attached bathrooms was great for my stay. I would definitely stay again.

This is my second time staying at Kelly's place. It's very private and I love the front porch where you can sit and no one will bother you.

Looooved this place & Paige made this such an easy and welcoming experience. The house was extremely clean and had plenty of amenities there. Paige checked in a few times asking if we needed anything and made sure we were happy with the place. She was very sweet & responded very quickly! 1000% recommend :)

This is our second stay here. It's a great place. It's close to the train track but that didn't bother us. The host is incredibly responsive and generally awesome. Highly recommend. The backyard is really nice if you have an animal. It's fully fenced, large and well furnished!

Beautiful home , well maintained, modern up to date appliances, close to highways, and supermarket, beautiful neighborhood and yard. Very responsive host. Enjoyed our stay while we were there for my son’s graduation from The University of Alabama.

The host were great! The unit was spotless! Very comfortable bed and attention to detail in unit. Great nespresso machine in unit and also coffee maker in lobby. Outdoor patio on ground floor was nice to de-stress. Overall great stay and space.

It was a beautiful place with the tallest ceilings I've ever seen! It's in a really cute little shopping district with a coffee shop only a few blocks away. We really enjoyed our time here and will try to stay here again next time through Birmingham

Susan was a great host. We had a problem with the A/C, but she addressed it right away and resolved the issue. And for our one day inconvenience her refunded our full amount. If the property is available I will be staying there again. Thanks.

Charles was a great and responsive host. His place was perfect for our short stay. Would definitely stay again if I was in town. Location is surrounded by all you need within walking distance honestly.

Carol’s place was clean and well appointed. She was very responsive and also accommodated late check in. There isn’t much around but it’s about a 15 minute easy walk to the convention center.

Was a little difficult to locate which apartment it was. Other than that. Everything was perfect.

Second time staying here and we have enjoyed it both times! We love the place and the view. Definitely the best place to stay in Alabama!!

Shelia is an excellent host, and goes above and beyond to make sure her guests know how to get to the apartment. I checked in around midnight, and she was super accommodating, and even walked me through the check-in process on the phone with getting the key fob, making sure I knew where to go to get to the apartment once parked, etc. Excellent host through and through, and will definitely stay here again if I'm ever passing through.

It was so nice. We loved the location because we love Homewood! The place was very comfortable and beautifully furnished!

Joe’s place is very nice! I think it’s exactly what the pictures depicted and worked really well for our one night stay. Joe was very responsive to my messages and helped coordinate an early check in based on our need for that. That was very much appreciated and would recommend this property and any others he may have, based on that service alone!

Joanna's apartment was great! Beautifully updated and simply decorated. Firm beds, spotless showers and kitchen, comfortable den furniture. perfect for our brief stay for college Orientation.

Joycelyn's place is perfect if you want a nice quite place that feels like home. We were there for a wedding and to have some fun exploring the city of Birmingham. This condo was a great place to relax after a long day of sightseeing! Joycelyn was very responsive. Her place was very clean and had all of the items you need to enjoy a short weekend or a longer stay. The area that it is located in is beautiful! We will stay here again! We needed an overnight on our way down to the beach. This place was in a cool part of Birmingham, a historical district that has been revitalized with a unique, industrial modern vibe. The place had what we needed for a quick, convenient one night stay. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and stumbled on the Alabama Peanut Company, a historic peanut shop and a fantastic gelato shop.
