Lake house vacation rentals in Shawnigan Lake

We had a wonderful time at Shawnigan Lake, staying in Todd's beautiful cottage! It was perfectly situated right on the lake, with a fantastic dock space perfect for swimming and other activities. We were close to the train trestle, a lovely walking/running trail, a restaurant with a picturesque lake view, and a corner store for quick purchases. Grocery stores were about 15-20 minute drive away. All in all it was an incredible place to vacation for an active family! Thank you so much Todd!

This was a fantastic place to stay. Not only a nice peaceful refuge, but beautiful waterfront and lots of Canadian charm. It was very welcoming. There was a sense of humour with Richard’s inventiveness around the property (eg. the motorized raft with the palm tree, wheeled Muskoka chairs, the Taki tiki hut and much more). The lake and dock were awesome and the water was beautiful and warm for swimming. The home had plenty of space with all the necessary amenities. We could not have chosen a more perfect place for us. Langford is a great community as well. Thank you Richard!!!

Awesome place! The house was very well appointed. Host always responded to our messages. Walkable to all stores and food options. Would definitely recommend this place if staying in and around lake Cowichan.

Truly remarkable place to stay. The lake was amazing and there's so many great touches to offer staying here to list. Fishing right from the dock was just the icing on the cake we caught rainbow trout, bluegill, and small mouth bass from the air bnb dock.

A little piece of lake paradise. Brian’s house was just perfect for our family reunion. Super comfortable for the 10 of us (two families of 4 + a set of grandparents; kids ranging from 7 to 15). Equipped with everything you need to have a great time outdoors (kayaks, paddle boards, body boards, snorkeling kits) and indoors (lots of games and books, a foosball table, internet, TV and movies). Everything we needed was there (cooking utensils, coffee, towels, shampoo, etc, etc) - we just brought ourselves, our clothes and a life vest for our 7yo (Brian rightfully recommended we bring one, since the many PFDs they have are for adults or bigger kids). We had great weather and the next door house was empty during most of our stay, so we had the dock mostly for ourselves. Lovely place and super responsive and nice host. We hope to be back! Hi Lesley, Just wanted to let you know we left a little after 11am—we stayed just a bit longer to clean up the dishes as best we could after a quick meal with some leftovers we didn’t want to waste. We truly appreciated how well-equipped the kitchen was—it had almost everything we needed! The property was amazing, thank you so much again. Just a quick note: we noticed a couple of things that seemed to be there already—the sliding door by the laundry room was detached at the top, and one of the window levers by the side nook was missing. Great modern stay close to Youbou, the water and a nice walking park. The modern suite was spacious, quiet and convenient to find.

This place was GORGEOUS. The layout of the house is so nice and big. Perfect for our trip. My husband and I traveled with our medium/large dogs and a friend and we never felt on top of each other. The kitchen and dining room were huge! They had everything possible to cook with. We thought we’d be eating out for our three night stay but ended up cooking two of the nights! The backyard is magical. Hummingbirds galore. The pond provides beautiful sounds all day. Beds were comfy and pillows weren’t stiff. The hot tub was a dream. Felt like a resort. This place is a real gem. We already booked another stay!

Great location on the lake. Can walk into Lake Cowichan in 10 minutes and public boat launch is 5 minute walk away. The house is well stocked and had everything we needed. We were 2 families (8 total) each with 2 older teenage boys and felt like there was ample space and sleeping. Lake is across the street, and there is a beach and good sized dock - one in our party had a broken ankle and wasn't able to walk the path to the water but we were able to ferry him over on the boat from the public dock. Dawn is quick to respond and available for any issues. We will be back!

The views of the lake are incredible. We enjoyed our stay so much we added an extra night.

Stunning property and a beautiful home! I’ve stayed at a lot of Airbnbs and this was by far the most well-appointed. Every detail and convenience was considered and our group felt very much at home. We had a wonderful weekend and Billy was an exceptional host. Highly recommend! Thank you Billy!

Great hat and a great stay

Our family had an unforgettable stay here and would love to come back some day! It was a beautiful space and location, close to shops and restaurants, steps to an excellent beach and is a friendly neighbourhood. Will recommend to friends and family. Thanks for a great start to summer!

My son was excited to visit Lake Cowichan since he used to spend summers there with his grandparents. We would see this home on our walks and i was excited that it was available. My son and husband said it was a great place, roomy, clean & a great location. They both do marital arts and my husband enjoyed looking at some of the books in the library.

Very nice and cozy accommodations. Very clean and comfortable. Peaceful and quiet location. It felt like home away from home. We definitely recommend Martha’s place.

Shawn and Alexandra were very friendly and sweet. They greeted us with a lovely hand-written card and some delicious brownies. The communication was great, they provided very clear instructions in advance and were responsive to our questions and requests. The place was very clean and well maintained. There were plants, board games, and many decorations that made this place felt like home and very cozy and comfy. We could tell that they put a lot of effort into maintaining this place! We really appreciate staying there 😄

Excellent stay at Elk Lake! We had an excellent stay at Kyle's place by Elk lake. It was very roomy and had all the amenities listed. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed to prepare meals. The rooms very very big and had plenty of floor and closet space. The outside has a nice deck and is private. It is easy walking access to both the 10km Elk Lake loop (excellent for running) and the Bear Hill hike. We were at a sporting event at the Commonwealth centre and found that because we were outside of downtown, we could be at the centre, the beach, or a grocery store within a 7 min drive. We had 5 adults but could easily fit 8. We messaged Kyle a few times and he was always quick to respond. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Kyle!

Had a great time celebrating a big milestone birthday with our large family. Kurt was very responsive. The house was very spacious and comfortable. We’d love to come back again.

Great stay at this airbnb. VERY clean, comfy furnishings, well stocked with everything we needed. Host communication was super quick, check in easy, nice to have the garage for our car over a hot weekend. We had a wedding close by to attend so the location was good for us. Highly recommend.

I'm a repeat visitor to this house. It is a perfect spot to get away for a few days or more. Nothing like those amazing sunsets and relaxing on your own private dock on the lake!

We had a great time at Suzannes apartment. It’s very well equipped and nicely located close to the lake with many things to do around Lake Cowichan.
