Me and my partner booked here for the night to celebrate my new job, and honestly it was hands down the best night aways we’ve had. Marian was amazing from the second I booked, answering my questions and giving directions. The hut was absolutely beautiful and so cosy, the views were amazing and the hot tub was perfect and stayed warm all night, this was started before we arrived and when we popped out for food, kept going for us to keep it warm for us getting back. I couldn’t say a bad word with this stay! Added bonus we had the lovely company of her little dog, who was the most friendliest dog, he kept watch over us which made us feel even more comfortable. Thank you so much; we will definitely be back

Sue has a beautiful place on offer. Very clean and well thought out. Thoughtful touches like providing fresh bread, selection of cereals, jams etc. The bed was comfortable and helpful instructions in the property. Cute little area outside to sit out in, which I can imagine in the summer it is a really peaceful spot. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to book here. Thank you for having us.

We had a really lovely stay at this characterful home — it’s full of charm and personality, which made it feel really special. The added bonus was how well-equipped it was for children, with lots of thoughtful amenities that made our trip much easier as a family. Check-in was smooth and straightforward, and the host was incredibly friendly and responsive to any questions we had throughout our stay The only small observation is that it could benefit from a slightly deeper clean, as we did notice some dust in places. That said, it didn’t take away from how much we enjoyed our time — just something to be aware of for future guests. Would absolutely recommend and would love to return

The photos do not do the place justice - it is absolutely beautiful and so thoughtfully decorated. So much bigger than it looked online too and we had a great stay. The only issue we had was that the hot water stopped working mid way through the day. Elizabeth was super helpful and responsive to the problem but we had to be in Newcastle for early evening so it meant 6 of our party had to have freezing cold showers one day as the water took too long to come back on. Other than that, I can’t fault it. Surroundings are beautiful. So peaceful and yet close to shops, airport (25 mins), a gorgeous spa (matfen hall), and a 35 min minibus to Newcastle. Would recommend to all.

Beautiful stay at Eric’s, peaceful location and plenty to do in the surrounding areas. The accommodation was clean and well equipped, it was exactly what we needed for our long weekend stay, we would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.

This was the perfect place for a peaceful weekend retreat. With no TV to distract me and gorgeous countryside full of daffodils and signs of spring to enjoy, it was just what I needed to be restored. Gaynor was helpful with recommendations, and the walks were beautiful from the front door. The fresh bread was delicious from the bakery next door and the bookcase had some wonderful books to dip into. I will be recommending it to my friends.

We had such a comfortable and peaceful night’s stay, it truly felt like a home away from home, plus we loved the wacky decor. The space was clean, cozy, and very thoughtfully put together, with all the little touches that make a big difference. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the quiet surroundings made it easy to relax and get a great night’s sleep. We really appreciated how welcoming and easy everything was from start to finish. Would definitely love to stay here again!

Really beautiful place and a great stay for a laid back weekend, lots a places nearby to vist as well. Debs was great and responsive to any messages too.

Loved this comfortable studio. It was really well equipped for cooking. Good shower and plenty of hot water. Good TV. Nice touch to include Netflix. Perhaps the best thing was the location. Nice quiet neighbourhood, could hear lots of birdsong, yet a convenient footpath down to the river. Really pleasant walk into town. Also walked up to observatory hill. It is exactly as described and would highly recommend as a place to stay in Durham.
